Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert Fined For Comments After Loss To 76ers

Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert have each been fined by the NBA for comments following a 131-123 loss by the Utah Jazz at the Philadelphia 76ers.

Mitchell was fined $25,000 for public criticism of the officiating and his conduct while exiting the court. Mitchell received two technicals and was ejected with 30.8 seconds remaining and then knocked over a water cooler.

Gobert was fined $20,000 for public criticism of the officiating.

I think that Joel flopped, after he realized that he might get stuffed by the rim on that dunk attempt.

I can't tell definitively, but it sure looks like none of the Utah players even touched him during that attempt. Rudy might have grazed Joel with his left forearm, but certainly not enough to drop Embiid like he was suddenly paralyzed.

The refs should have reviewed it, and should not have been so quick to issue a technical in an emotional, highly charged overtime. Philly had the momentum before this play, they didn't need any help from the zebras. It sort of taints the W.
