NBA Announces 2020/21 Rising Stars Rosters
March 3rd 2021 at 1:09pm CST by Luke Adams

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the pared-down nature of the NBA’s 2021 All-Star weekend, a Rising Stars Game showcasing the league’s top rookies and sophomores won’t be played this year.

However, the league has still announced the rosters for the event, via NBA Top Shot, naming the 20 players who would have been selected to participate if the game was taking place. Here are those rosters:

U.S. Team:
LaMelo Ball (Hornets)
Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves)
Tyrese Haliburton (Kings)
Tyler Herro (Heat)
De’Andre Hunter (Hawks)
Keldon Johnson (Spurs)
Ja Morant (Grizzlies)
Michael Porter Jr. (Nuggets)
Zion Williamson (Pelicans)
James Wiseman (Warriors)

World Team:
Precious Achiuwa (Heat)
Nickeil Alexander-Walker (Pelicans)
Deni Avdija (Wizards)
RJ Barrett (Knicks)
Facundo Campazzo (Nuggets)
Brandon Clarke (Grizzlies)
Luguentz Dort (Thunder)
Rui Hachimura (Wizards)
Theo Maledon (Thunder)
Mychal Mulder (Warriors)

 about time MPJ gets some respect. Won't surprise me if Facu shines here as well

They are not playing the game, but it is nice to see them both get some recognition.

Any interest in Blake Griffin ?? At worst, keep him away from competition ??

He can play on our G-League team that we don't have.

If he is willing to be a deep bench player and he doesn't cost much; sure, I'd take him. He's got some skills, even these days. He could be of value with our bench or in case of injury.

LeBron James, Kevin Durant Select All-Star Game Teams
MAR 4, 2021 9:08 PM

LeBron James and Kevin Durant selected their respective teams for the 2021 NBA All-Star Game.

James picked Giannis Antetokounmpo first overall, while Durant selected Kyrie Irving with his initial selection.

Team LeBron (Starters)
Pick 1: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Pick 3: Stephen Curry
Pick 5: Luka Doncic
Pick 7: Nikola Jokic

Team Durant (Starters)
Pick 2: Kyrie Irving
Pick 4: Joel Embiid
Pick 6: Kawhi Leonard
Pick 8: Bradley Beal
Pick 9: Jayson Tatum

Team LeBron (Reserves)
Pick 11: Damian Lillard
Pick 13: Ben Simmons
Pick 15: Chris Paul
Pick 17: Jaylen Brown
Pick 19: Paul George
Pick 21: Domantas Sabonis
Pick 23: Rudy Gobert

Team Durant
Pick 10: James Harden
Pick 12: Devin Booker
Pick 14: Zion Williamson
Pick 16: Zach LaVine
Pick 18: Julius Randle
Pick 20: Nikola Vucevic
Pick 22: Donovan Mitchell

Durant will not play, and he decided to pick as #1 pick of his team the worst player out of 10 starters, his buddy Irving... so we know that the all-star game will be even more unbalanced than the traditional EAST-WEST game already after 2nd pick. Pathetic...

Connelly getting named as the replacement for Booker seems like it is overlooking players like DeRosen and Jamal. Glad Jamal will get some rest, but Connelly isn't having a better year.

Conley has been snubbed several times in his 14yr career, seems like charitable retribution because the Jazz are the top seed

Jazz lose again, on a downward spiral....we're only 5 games back of OUR division lead.

Finch is making something respectable out of Anthony Edwards...

Well, he was the overall #1 pick...MIN has never really been good at player development though, IMO Finch was a good hire for them

Clippers losing tonight means we're not only one game back of LAL for the 4th seed but only two games behind LAC for the 3rd seed....and guess who our next opponent is ??? The Clippers...meats on the table, let's see how hungry this team is.

With a win tonight vs. the Clips, we'd pull even with the LAL and within 1 game of the 3rd place LAC team, how HUGE woukld that be. The Clips coming off an embarrassing loss to the Magic will be looking to right their ship, hope the Core 4 can continue it's upward trajectory.

One other note, I really like Millsap in his new bench role, it gives him a chance for some prime mismatches and scoring opportunities.

Too early to vote for COY but there are three WC teams that are certainly surprising and thus their coaches are likely candidates for coach of the year - my opinion.

3. Frank Vogel for keeping his team as high as they are without Davis for most of the season and without LeBron for quite a bit.

2. Monty Williams: because who picked the Suns to finish 2nd in the West?

1. Quin Snyder: because who picked the Jazz to have the best record in the league? Plus he's coaching a team with one truly spectacular scorer and one truly spectacular defender and a bunch of fair to very nice players.

Morris out again with tight hammys, not pointing fingers but Morris seems to be more fragile since signing his extension

I wonder if this could be a while. So if the Nuggets are down to starting Facu, who is next up? Rivers signing soon, maybe?

Atlanta certainly seems to be doing better than most predicted.

But the real shocker to me is New York! Oh my goodness!!

New York definitely, don't think even the biggest optimists expected they will hold their level after the first few games.

Thibs doesn't deserve the COY curse again, he is doing a great job with that Knicks team.

Return to Denver Nuggets
