I sure hope not, it means for the short term, bye bye cap space, for the long term, bye bye Luka.
Love's best days are behind him, he made a mistake slimming down.

This does not mean bye bye Luka.

They will have him for the next 3 to 5 years.

Curry was reasonable enough defensively, he had become passable. He also added some ball handling.

Redick has fallen off the cliff. He's a spot up shooter who right now can't hit his shots, is one of the worst defensive players in the league and offers nothing else. I have long been a huge fan but he's done. He'd be unplayable in the playoffs.

Redick is also expiring. If the Mavs can dump a contract (even a small one) for Redick it’s a win in my opinion. He may not be that same guy he was with the Sixers but we’ve seen guys have a resurgence before. Personally I don’t see the harm. If he doesn’t work then no problem, he comes off the books at the end of the season.

Cant bet on reddick having a resurgence, unless its for someone that isnt in our top 10 rotation. So sure, iwundu maybe. None rotation players and why would nop that is trying to make the playoffs do that?

Pelicans do it just to get a young solid project in Iwundu. Like you said, he hasn’t played great this season. They do it just take a chance in a young guy.

Wes Iwundu is 26 years old and averaging 2 and 2 on poor percentages.

He has negative value, even on his small contract.

I just don’t think there is much out there that would improve the team. I think they should hold on to the off-season.

I would trade Powell and Johnson for Love.

Its not great, but I think makes the Mavs better. I am just not seeing many good options otherwise for the Mavs. Nothing out there seems better than re-signing THJ and JRich. And they really don't have any useful, expendable assets outside of their expiring contracts.

And then you would have another big with insane contract, way past his prime, who also can't defend and can't stay on the court, for the next 2-3 years. Makes no sense. I hope Mavs say no to Oladipo aswell.

The only way I do this deal is if the Cavs add an unprotected 2021 1rd pick

In the last 5 seasons, the most games he played were 60. This season he got injured after only 2 games !!!! He's still getting paid 29M for 22-23 season. His advance metrics are also way too low for someone so fragile and so expensive.

My point is, if i'm the Mavs i would demand a lot more than just one 1st round pick. :P

I absolutely agree with the logic.

THJ, JRich and somebody using the Johnson contract, plus somebody on the full MLE is much better than:

No THJ or JRich, a max FA from what's left and only the room MLE to add another body.

I just think Love is the wrong target. He simply can't play with KP and when he does play it leaves us with a poor defense. He's also rarely healthy.

But I do agree and I will keep banging on that we need to turn Johnson into a rotation guy for next year and possibly beyond. I'd happily throw in Green and any of the other young guys if it's a starter level player.

I think H. Barnes is best option for now and later .

Not K. Love ... his contract is inordinate. However, I agree with Barnes. I also think that O. Porter, is a very good option, surely he wants to be paid

I wouldn’t be upset if they didn’t make a move at the deadline. None of the guys that have been mentioned in rumors are going to move the needle this season and none are potential long term pieces. No sense in making a move just to make a move.

I think Thad Young would be perfect to have unless we could get Markkanen or WCJ from Orlando
