The ideal big to fit our team would be someone like Mitch Robinson. A rim protector and rim runner that doesn't require the ball to influence the game.

I'm not saying he's realistically obtainable but he's the prototype we need.

Vucivic is not a great fit.

Saw on the feed that the Kings are finding the market "tepid" for Marvin Bagley, Jr. Don't know what 'tepid' means. Could mean offers are for 2nds, not 1sts, or trash from deep on the bench, or for bad contracts. Posters here have suggested trading for Bagley, which I think would be a positive move if the price is right. But what is the right price, considering the situation?

I still think the Hornets are happy with what they've got, but adding adding talent can never be a bad thing - even if doing so means that adding another Dukie would make Jordan's left eye twitch.

Hayes or Bamba would be great targets IMO.

Agreed, and will add Nicolas Claxton. It may be tough to get Claxton at this point, but hope we at least try.

Definitely want to target any of these players...especially if they can be had for cheap.

I'd assume Daniel Gafford can be grouped in this tier of player, seems like he could be a good get too.

Ultimately, I see Mitch staying put and seeing what we have in Richards...he's likely going to get a shot before Big Vern if either get a chance this season. I think that'd be a bit too passive, as I think we should aim to get a pickup a la the Courney Lee deal as others have voiced but for a 5 obviously. Feels like we really should use that open roster spot.

a little worried it might affect chemistry but I'd consider Graham and Biz for Zubac.

Zubac would be our best centre, at the worst he's solid and he's signed for a couple more years at 7-7.5 mill. just a bargain.

plenty of decent catch's and finishes.

I'd love Hayes but I don't see what we could offer other than future firsts that NO would want so I'm reluctant

Hayes is intriguing but has he really put on any significant weight since his rookie year? If he can add some heft and strength I’d love to get him. Zubac is good but he strikes me as a slightly better Cody.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

maybe some kind of protected pick swap with one of the future Lakers picks? Would the Pels trade Hayes to move up from the 28th-30th pick in 2022 to the 15th-20th pick?

And do we do that? I think I do since we wouldn't be giving up the pick outright and Mitch has a good track record with the 25-35 pick range.

The amount of people on this board/Twitter advocating for trading 3rd pick for Robinson and 8 was nuts.

Robinson is playing 30 mins and averaging 8/8, he is a very mediocre basketball player at this point.

Are we talking about their 3rd string center? I like his potential but this is also the guy who has played more than 20 mpg once this year, grabbed double digit rebounds once this year and scored double figures 3 times this year in 25 games played (dnp in 11 games) and has been benched for Hernangomez essentially.

If we offered a first for him right now Pelicans would accept in 0.6 seconds.

We all know Hernangomez is basically a losing player and shouldn’t be seeing major minutes so it has to be telling that Hayes can’t get on the floor ahead of him.

i don't think nola would give up on hayes for a mid-late 1st at all really. they look at him like most of us here look at monk.

whg is playing his best ball because he knows its his last chance in the league too. i couldn't stand him in charlotte but he's playing much better in new orleans than he was here.

Yes their third string center. I'd like to trade for him but I don't see a player on our roster that makes a lot of sense for them so I'm guessing it would take a future first which I'm reluctant to do. I just think he has potential and I could see him being a fit with LaMelo. Not sure we really disagree

To be fair, last season he averaged 10 and 7 with 2 blocks in 23 MPG as a 21 year old in his second season.

[O'Connor] League sources say the Hornets are among teams to express interest in Evan Fournier.
