Kyle Long is talking about a comeback. We just cut Bobby Massie, let him try out at RT.

I think Pace has no choice but to make a splash on Watson or Wilson. This team isn't going anywhere with Foles (or even signing smith). He's fighting for his NFL life. Everyone knows he's desperate. There will be a lot of Chicago picks going out.

Too bad Moton is getting tagged, he would have been a great pickup at a reasonable cost.

McKaskey is equally desperate for a QB which imo is a good thing, it's not Pace trying to save his job, it's him trying to make the owner/fanbase happy.

If you get either franchise to say yes, the price doesn't matter.

No reason to keep Wilson then.

The free agent market is going to be depressed this year, so few teams have cap room and there's a going to be a glut of players released here in the coming days.

they're shedding overpriced contracts due to a shrunken cap. just like every other team. dunlap had a bad year, so off he goes. the bears were in worse cap shape than the seahawks heading into the offseason

true, but as we saw with the mack acquisition, new free agent contracts are typically backloaded. and it's not like the bears have more cap room than most other teams. while free agents won't be cleaning up this offseason, there's still a relative advantage for teams with comparatively better cap situations

the panthers will have cap hits of $8 mil, $13 mil and $15 mil for moton over the next 3 years. which means that they knew he commanded at least that much on the free agent market. that doesn't fit the bears budget. whereas it does for a lot of teams:

You don't know that. You don't have Pace's budget spreadsheet in front of you.

I’m not sure if you’ve been paying attention. But almost every team in the league is looking to cut salary, not take it on. And the Bears are in worse shape in that regard than 65% of the league. So no, this guy wasn’t going to fall within the Bears budget.

How are they gonna recruit Wilson by cutting Graham? A restructure maybe?

I'd be pretty shocked if Jimmy wasn't here nex year. Restructure/extend him and get that cap off of this year's books.

He's going to be a red zone threat for the next few years and he's super close with Kmet (and Russ like you mentioned.

Greg Olsen came out this week and talked about how much he loved playing here and how pissed he was when he was traded.
