Spurs basketball is back! After some much needed rest and practice, we continue the second half of the season versus a cross-state and division rival. We are back with almost a full team which will balance our line-ups and provide consistency. We'll need our full complement of strength going forward, starting tonight: D-out, O movement, and relentless drive for a complete team game.

If we can start today with the W I think we should be able to go 5-1 in the next six, but we also recently dropped those two against the Thunder so consistency isn't our strong suit.

Hello and welcome! Luka has been noticeably better since coming over from the G-League, and really impressive defensively. I think his good showing has helped us ease away from LMA with more comfort. I hope he shows well, too!

Yeah I agree about how we can fare in the upcoming schedule. Now that we have almost the full team back, we should be able to get some more consistency with the team. I think we've done well considering all the changes to line-ups and with players in and out, so with almost everyone back, it should stabilize us and now we can show what we can do.

Lonnie's such an enigma: he makes shots in inverse proportion to difficulty and proximity to the rim. Makes 3s, loses ball on drives or misses at the rim...

We have to run back on D harder, and we have to be better at tending to their cutters. Also make it much harder for them to score inside. Not dirty D, but make them feel our presence inside - too much finesses all around, including our finishing at their rim.

Very solid first half, especially defensively and from the arc. We got better at collapsing in the paint and rotating for better help D. Terrific passing. We're finding ways to score - to that, I'd like to see us drive with more physicality (just not right into them) and make a variety of shots, not over-relying on the 3.

Didn't like the shot selection by DJ to end the 2ND Q - he's struggling and took an awkward shot for the miss.

Overall Lonnie has been terrific on O - hitting 3s, and those two drives were terrific in terms of body balance in the air, athleticism to hang, and take contact on that second one. On the charge, he drove right in to a player who got there in time but had Rudy at the side open waiting for a pass. Rudy hung his hands and head in frustration. Fundamentals.

DeMar is white hot. We need far better O from our wonderful-D back court tandem.

But given we're just shedding our rust, we're doing well overall.

Need to be more crisp in ball protection and passing to open driving lanes, get to the FT line more. Maintain the clean and stingy solid D.

Jakob too finesse on drivers - needs to lay a body on them.

9 points so far in the 4TH Q with 5:27 left isn't what was drawn up... We've struggled the last couple of final Q's, we need a spark to rev us up.

Getting outrebounded 50-30. Embarrassing.

Mills' play needs to be as a bench spark for a real contender. I hope both parties agree.

Right now we have him running around like a headless chicken to get him shots and that is far outweighed by how easy he gets scored on or left wondering where his man was on the other end.

That can't be hidden on average teams like ours.

And White and Murray just don't compliment each other on offense. One needs to go. Walker is the starting SG.

See, this is stuff that annoys me.

At least 21 of those 28 turnovers were because of the opponent being careless with the ball. We did not force anyone into anything.
But if you didn't see the game this douche makes it sound like we should have won.

Ouch! I think the analytics bear out that we're a solid defensive team, and that we're good in forcing turnovers while limiting our own. Weiss was stressing the better stretch. If we continue to do well in this area, even with some being unforced turnovers by opponents, it's an indicator of good team D play.

Also, this was posted some time in the first half where we played well. So it was less about him insinuating anything about whether we should have won than simply a real time stat...

Grey! I love you, you're the best. Did you watch that game? I cannot count the number of wide open threes Dallas had. Wide open threes meaning there wasn't a defender within 10 feet of the shooter threes. How many dunks did Culley-Stein and Kleibr get because we cannot defend a simple pick and roll? Anyone can skew numbers to make it look like we are a good defensive team but we simply are not. I'm not killing them for it, they just aren't that good defensively which is understandable. What bugs me is media trying to tell us something that is completely false because they don't understand the game themselves.
