Anyway, Suggs does scream all-star caliber to me. Earlier in the season it was Suggs winning everyone over for the #1 pick. It was Cade slowly playing better each game that overtook Suggs. I mean, how much you wanna bet that if Suggs takes his team to the championship.. or even the final four while maintaining his averages that he will be the #1 pick/talk before the draft?

I don't think so, because it's relative to competition.

He'll be playing with NBA players, sure, but he's going to be be drafted to a team that has worse NBA players than most of the others.

Suggs is going from the best team in college basketball, a team so talented that Suggs can score 14 points a night and they can still be undefeated, to one of the 3-4 worst teams in the NBA most likely.

Can he become a higher usage player in the pros when the bad NBA team that picks him inevitably leans on him to do more? Hopefully so!

Well... IF he gets drafted by us, I dont think we will be one of the worst 3-4 teams in the league IF we are healthy lol. Also, I think we won't be asking him to do more compared to the other teams? We have a primarily ball handler and distributor, we have a go to scorer, we have a defensive specialist... so just plug and play do your thing for any rookie wing/guard we have.

I have a lot of thoughts on Scottie Barnes. I've had the chance to watch the majority of his college minutes this year, && may do a more detailed post on him closer to draft night.

Scottie is very Ben Simmons like to me. Solid ball-handling, outstanding court vision, && is a special defender. Absolutely agree with Knightro above that he is by no means a raw offensive player. He is not going to come into the league as a shooter, but I have confidence that he will be an impactful offensive player from the jump due to everything else he brings to the table.

6'10 point forwards with his skill set don't grow on trees. Kuminga is extremely raw in comparison. I don't see the point forward skillset that is already there for Scottie. Scottie Is going to be able to come into the league and run offense from day 1.

I heard David Thorpe saying Barnes reminds him Magic Johnson. Not the same talent level, but comparison is intriguing saying the least.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Well, 6'9 player that handles the ball and plays point-forward would describe Ben and Magic a little.. is that the only criteria why Barnes is there? Cuz there is a more famous player in this draft that also has that description.. but with a better 3pt shot lol.

Seriously though, I think I will make an effort to watch a game when he goes up against a powerhouse that can defend him properly.

Bleacher Report mock has us taking Suggs at #4 and, most importantly, in the photo he had "cupping" marks all over his shoulders...it's a sign from God

Would you play Suggs on the ball as a full time PG or off the ball as a full time SG?

I think I'd start him at SG (depending on our trade deadline moves) but definitely a combo-y guy like Dinwiddie, IMO

I know this board is going to be pissed if we draft another big, especially with a lot of strong guards. But wow, I really like Mobley. He's right up there with Cade for #1.

LOL then the few games that I saw him making those 3s were not the norm then.

Different topic : Any of you watching TEN vs FLO right now? Which of the TEN guards impresses you more?

sadly, no. one of the best teams Bama has had in a long time, but they are the cliche better as a team than individual parts. Shackleford may work his way into the draft, but it would be next year not this year. Herb Jones is the best NBA prospect, but his calling card is defense.

Well... that's over with. I invite you to watch our future MAgician Cade going up against the "arguably" 2nd best team in the tourney Baylor.. and if not there is always Moody also playing lol
