Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
So we got about 3 weeks before the trade deadline?
But the second half starts with some tough games. A rough start could dash hopes for this season. But they still have to make one or more trade to better-position the roster for next season.
Can't be left stuck with KO walking for nothing or being forced to re-sign him.

The Warriors’ next 3 games are brutal. But after that, the remainder of the schedule is overall very easy; I think 15 of their final 30 games are against teams in the bottom 10 in the league.
I don’t think we should over-react to the likely 19-21 record we’ll have. The schedule alone will help us to rise.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Does it worry anyone else that Aldridge is now available for a trade?
Seems to be a player Bob/Kerr really like, and while i'd be fine with him starting over Wiseman/Looney for rest of the year, not sure its worth dumping potential longer term players like Wiggins or Oubre+Filler.

I’d only want Aldridge in a buy out scenario. Not really interested in trading for him

My thoughts exactly. I don't see a way matching that contract without giving up way too much.

Now Porzingis available too....
If Myers goes big after Beal, could see him following that up selling whatever is left of the farm for Vucevic, Aldridge, Zinger, or someone that can play center.

KP had a good stat line yesterday, 28/14 in 36 minutes including a key basket in crunch time.
I'm not saying to trade for him but wouldn't write him off. His contract makes him unappealing, as well as injury risk..

Yup...Aldridge would be another David West. However, I don't think any of the buy-out players will come here those.

We need Beal... if we get him we can really win it all... this season is wide open!

Hard to believe anyone thinks getting Beal would even give them a chance to win it all. Not to mention that the Warriors don't have anything that could top what the Wizards could get from other teams. I doubt they are salivating over Wiggins.

Beal and Wagner or Lopez
for Oubre, Wiseman, 2021 minny pick and future first round picks Paschall
I think Washington would go after this deal

Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
How about this plan to get Steph some help now without losing our two best future assets (Wiseman/Minny Pick):
Looney + 1 (or 2) lotto protected future 1sts for John Collins (plan to re-sign him and have a 4/5 rotation of Dray/Collins/Wiseman).
Oubre + Paschall for Bledsoe (Lonzo preferred but doubt thats available)
start: Steph, Bazemore, Wiggins, Collins, Dray
2nd unit: Bledsoe, Poole, Lee, JTA, Wiseman
Next year add in Klay and hopefully a top 5 pick. Still have the option of packaging Wiseman/minny pick for a star.

Getting Beal wouldn't be for this season, but would definitely help next season. Offense would be lethal, defense improved.. if we do it without getting rid of Wiggins, it pushes him into a much better role.. lots to like about it as long as you aren't mentally married to position basketball

I would bet my left arm that the Warriors are not targeting Beal.

Beal doesn't improve any defense, and having Klay guard SFs is not going to go well.

Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)
I feel like Klay can play 2-4 just as easily as someone like Wiggins or Oubre.... never really understood why the entire NBA is shifting players up positions but everyone thinks Klay needs to only play SG.
He can guard 3's. He can get his shot against 3s. The dude is a stud 2-way g/f anywhere you put him.
Good luck beating a team that closes with Steph/Beal/Klay/Wiggins/Dray.

Beal doesn't improve any defense, and having Klay guard SFs is not going to go well.
People also say Wiggins doesnt improve any defense.. citing metrics no doubt. Weird that Beal's defense went in the tank when the Wizards defense did, whereas before he was a celebrated 'above-average' defender. Of course if you watch him, you wouldnt think he's a bad defender..
Klay did guard SFs at times over our run and his oppFG% stayed the same (or improved).. again, working backwards from the answer. People dont like the idea of going small so they throw out general reasons that aren't actually true.

Did they? Or did they take the one asset that was available on the team KD was joining?
IMO the price for Beal is too much for his added value.

What does Wiggin's defense have to do with Beal's? And I have watched Beal, IMO he's not an "above-average" defender. And maybe we should see if Klay can make it up and down the court before we count on him guarding Lebron, Kawhi, etc.
