Interesting regional marketing (recruiting) campaign. I’ll enjoy watching the other programs fans/trolls get all bent out of shape over this. Digital billboards have changed road signage for the better imo.

We’re so young compared to other schools with much more established/senior alumni. If you went to FTU when it opened you would be around ~70 years old. I would argue the most important thing UCF has to do now is build out its alumni development team (at the individual college/school level) to take the university to the next level.

Is it feasible for us to approach the level of 1980s University of Miami teams?

It's crazy how much i've learned that previous staffs just didn't even try to recruit certain schools and areas because they felt the odds of a top recruit wanting to come here was small. That's a) disheartening, and b) lazy. I mean, I kind of get trying to be realistic and saying "Let's not waste time on recruits we have zero shot at" but these are local kids. These aren't 5-stars out in the midwest where it might not make sense to put too much effort it.

People act like recruiting Florida is “staying home” or they come to Orlando. Miami area is like 300+ miles away. Lakeland is an hour and half away.

It’s lazy to not have a relationship with these schools. I also assume it’s cheaper to cover a scholarship of an in state player. Even if we only benefit from finding preferred walk-on players, that’s critical depth for the program.

College football is so different as a sport, I don’t see a comparison to be made.

The goal for now imo is to be the best of the rest (G5) and make NY6 bowl game. The playoff is a pipe dream meant to drive ratings and talk shows. They will keep moving the goal posts on to keep a program like ours out because there is too much money involved to let another conference cash in.

We beat Auburn solidly (who beat two playoff teams) and if it wasn’t for claiming a NC it would have been dismissed entirely.

I wonder if he's a walk on, because we don't much many scholarships left from what i know. Getting another RB seems odd as well, we have so much depth there now, unless a few of them are moving to other positions or transferring out.

I’m actually surprised we haven’t had transfers out of the program. Usually with a coaching change that’s almost a given. That said, I’m glad most seem to be staying.

I this commit as addressing a need for a RB with some size. I thought we had more pressing needs for that roster spot.

2021 & 2022 recruiting classes starting to pickup for JD after some lackluster freshman classes his first few years (though not sure how Adams was only a 3*).
