Sign that kid. Please please sign that kid.

Waive Robinson or Gill & pick him up. We still sneak in under the tax.

This is a rookie SG who, per 40 minutes, is above NBA average for a wing in points scored, efg%, TS%, defensive rebounds, total rebounds, & assists. He gets to the line 7 times per 40 minutes -- as a rookie!

Jones has two bad stats: he turns the ball over too much (4.25 times/40 minutes) & he's only 65.1% from the line. He shot .820 from the line in college.

He's a guard not a big, but this is the Christian Wood story all over again.

I know you were a fan of his, but I worry that his archetype always runs into the same problem (See Russ, Wall, etc.).
Can he defend or play off the ball? He is sorta a ball stopper and not sure he can score & create well enough to overcome the turnovers and poor defense.

Would certainly take a flyer, but not expecting much if they did.

I agree. It would be much better if we could add exclusively guys who are a sure thing to be stars.

This is a promising young player. You prefer Anthony Gill?

I'm with you on this. Jones can flat out score, and he has the makings of being solid in other aspects - has good size and enough athleticism to be a very good finisher. It certainly makes more sense to have him on the roster than Gill or Robinson.

Wonder if Spurs get a cadre of expiring for Aldridge or they just buy him out. Pop basically said LMA has done everything asked of and been a great teammate but this is a win-win opportunity.

Spurs embracing small ball with Johnson at PF or DeRozan playing point-forward with Poetl in the middle. They’re an interesting squad to watch with White, Murray, Walker all playing.

I don't see a team trading for him, the contracts too big and he's not good enough of a player anymore.

Yup. Aldridge and Drummond are in the same boat. Nobody has enough salary ballast to trade for them without hurting their depth. And neither is good enough to be worth the loss of all that depth.

Houston just signed him back on a 10-day contract. Must be something going on.... But, what?

I mean I think drummand is still really good and worth it if you could pull it off. Like if we can add a drummand trade into a Bertans trade that could make sense for us. But as I said that's not easy.

Diallo still can't make 3's, but the rest of his game has taken a big step up this season. Good trade by detroit.

Yes, an excellent low-cost move by Troy Weaver. He knows Diallo's game well, having been the assistant gm at OKC when they drafted him.

Honestly I like svi better. Yeah he's a year older but he's still only 23.

It's been a very rough rookie year for him, but Aleksej Pokusevski finally showed the kind of potential he has against Memphis the other day with 23 points (13 FGAs), 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The rockets just absolutely bent the bucks over in the PJ tucker trade.
That's some EG magic if I've ever seen it !

The pick compensation is nice, but not a dramatic haul.

Yeah, not a huge deal. They're basically moving the pick Milwaukee already owed to Houston back a year (from 2022 to 2023) and getting the right to swap Houston's 2nd in the 30-35 range for Milwaukee's 1st in the 25-30 range in this year's draft. It's not a bad price for Tucker.

I'm more curious on how they plan to use him - they haven't embraced small ball whatsoever, so my first thought that they wanted someone more mobile to sub in for Brook Lopez in certain matchups may not be right. On the other hand, I can't imagine they're going so big that they'll have Tucker out there with Holiday, Middleton, Giannis, and Lopez. Maybe they just wanted a good defensive counterpart to Bobby Portis for the bench frontcourt.

Yeah but that swap is only protected 1-9 so if one achilles pops or one dude blows out a knee, then it's not a 35-30 for a 25-30. It's. Second rounder for alate loto pick.
