Seriously, this franchise has made a lot of dumbass moves but Donte for a washed up 36 year old expiring Tucker would be one of the dumbest.

I hope that's not an indicator of Donte's value around the league.

Let's say somehow Tucker was the Tucker of 2-3 years ago, basically best case scenario. It still wouldn't accomplish anything as you'd still be a guy short in your finishing lineup. There's no way they do this (cross fingers).

That's either an indicator of how stupid KOC is, or how stupid KOC's source is if he even has one.

If I’m Houston, Donte is the type of player I’m looking for as well. Too bad that isn’t the type of player they’ll get.

Hilarious that the Rockets want a young, productive, rotation player for a old, unproductive, "rotation" player. That's insanity.

They're asking for unrealistic young dudes from all teams, Herro and the like. Going the Danny Ainge route of being that time wasting wanker at the negotiating table.

Hey hey, someone else talking sense. Trading for Zinger is taking a step back because he looked good some years ago.smauss wrote:Baddy Chuck wrote:smauss wrote:Just say no to Porzingis. This season aside, which he has been bad, he's been a downright amazing defender.
Honestly, I've been considering this year Baddy, but it would be difficult for me to buy into his defense with being so weak and heartless. But ok, I'll take away "lousy defender" and add "injury prone." Is that to your liking?

There was also some shady crap going on with him a few years ago, too. I'm not interested in him on the Bucks.ShootingtheJ wrote:skones wrote:smauss wrote:

"Injury prone" is the reason he's available at a lower cost. There are a ton of stars that were once considered "injury prone." Hell, we have one on our own team in Jrue Holiday who nobody wanted to touch during the 15-16 campaign while I advocated at times for a buy low. Curry, Embiid, Kawhi, Beal, Anthony Davis, etc. are all guys who've had the injury prone tag on them at some point in their careers. As a general philosophy, particularly as a small-market team. Good players with the "injury prone" tag should be viewed as home run swings for us rather than an avoid at all costs situation.
A long term Porzingis Giannis pairing makes me drool a bit, but Middleton would be a no-fly zone at least for the rest of this year. If we fail again in the postseason, and I think we will, I'd be looking at moves that I once considered non-starters in an attempt to overhaul and put together another core that won't expire as quickly as the current one.
I think the reason a 2nd team is ready to move on from Porzingis is because of the continual questions of his lack of work ethic. The injuries are simply a byproduct of the real problem.

Again, there aren't question marks around his work ethic. There's nothing shady about wanting out of the Knicks organization with Dolan in the mix. Why are people sitting here just spinning false narratives as reasons to not trade for him? Play, injury risk, etc. These are legitimate reasons. Fake narratives, they just seem desperate.

Some years ago? He was literally a top tier defender last season and this season he's having the best offensive numbers of his career.

In fairness, Houston is just asking for a young player, KOC then pretends like DDV is our only young player. I'd offer Merrill or Nwora if I wanted Tucker, but I don't, because Tucker is washed.

Yes, this is exactly the same as the "x player is thought to be seeking a max deal" stories.

It couldn't even be just Donte with the salary. Thats what makes it unthinkable. To give up even more than Donte for Tucker would be disgusting. Even if it's a negative like DJW.
