Here we go. Why compare them at this point? 2013 Melo was the best scorer in the league and led us to the 2nd seed and was 3rd in MVP voting. Randle has the potential to pass Melo as a Knick if he wins a couple playoff series, but he isn't there yet.

Melo choked big time against Indi. And he was playing with Vets. Julius is playing with and FOR the kids.

I don't think he'll need to win a series especially against Nets or Bucks.

Randle is doing more on the court to help the Randle win.. Melo was a fantastic scorer but didn’t really do much else

He played fine while playing with an injured shoulder. The problem was no one except Shump showed up. Jr was hungover, Tyson disappeared against Hibbert and all the vets broke down. And even then we were a block from forcing a game 7.

Randle doesn't have to do much to pass Melo, but he isn't there YET.

Carmelo's defense would have been better under Tom Thibodeau.

I guess Randle is the more multi dimensional player but Melo was the deadliest scorer in the league and was a go to bucket in the 4th something Randle isn’t exactly great at yet.

Julius is a much better team player than ME-lo ever was.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

Carmelo never listened to his coaches. He played Melo ball his whole career.

I'll say that Randle is becoming one of my favorite Knicks though. At 1:50 RJ mentions how Randle fed him for the 30 cause Randle knew RJ was close to his career high. That kind of play from Randle shows all-around leadership and is how you build a strong culture.

Julius passing happens in flow of offense where Melo only passes when he thinks someone is open and everyone on defense knows what he's thinking both of there rebounding is equal so Melo has edge in scoring and Randle has edge in passing and efficiently scoring.

if you watched that series and left with the impression that it was Melo who choked, not any of the other trash vets who got demolished by their IND counterparts, then you should rewatch that series b/c you are in the underwhelming minority.

Even the IND guys said the reason we won games is b/c of Melo.

This isn’t the first time someone used a current Knick doing well as a tool to bash Melo

Think it's pretty clear how important leadership is.

Randle is filling that role very well. Easy guy to root for

i am/was the most anti-melo person on this board since the trade, and even i know that you can't blame that series on melo, nor did he choke.
