Gotta think this takes Embiid out of the running, sadly. This pretty much makes it between Jokic and LeBron with Luka as a dark horse if the Mavs keep playing the way they have been.

He’d have to only miss exactly 2 weeks of games and play every one afterwards. Don’t see it. He’s going to miss 1:3 of the season minimum which doesn’t cut it.

Embiid took the lead before tonight and Bron was a close 2nd with Jokic is a semi-close 3rd
Gotta think Joel is gonna be out for a while even if its nothing serious and hes already missed alot of games as it is
Wouldnt be crazy if Jokic is suddenly favored to win which would be an insane twist in a span of a day
Bron +150
Jokic +230
Embiid +550
big drop for Joel but not surprising considering hes out 2-3 weeks at minimum

Gladly trade the Maurice Podoloff Trophy (seriously is that really the name of the the thing?) to get the big guy back on the court healthy again. Just not sure what to do with guys hitting him while he’s in the air.

ya, Lebron's gonna be the auto vote if jokic doesnt win enough or Embiid doesnt play enough. But i think Jokic is undervalued right now. Nuggets can easily finish above the Lakers

If Embiid doesn't win it, I really want Joker to.

I want the Bucks to go on a streak and finish atop the standings so it becomes awkward for the media not to discuss Giannis. I know he's not winning MVP(reason-3x in a row) but I just want to hear the talking heads come up with reasons on air why he shouldn't win MVP.

Embiid goes down to injury that's thankfully not season ending.

Fair point but wouldn't that create a slippery slope where more players want an exemption to be able to load manage and be eligible for the award? Lebron at his age would have an argument. A guy like Kawhi would have an argument to be eligible as well if he shows he has a legit degenerative condition. In my opinion no one using load management should be eligible. Regular season rewards durability as well as performance. Candidates playing every other game rested have an unfair advantage, imo of course. I've honestly been hoping Embiid didn't get it for that reason. Voter should go with with Jokic who meets every criteria

Man, Luka and Mavs need this win tonight vs. Denver. Hope Joker put up big numbers to keep his MVP momentum and get the wins from other team so solidify his case

If Embiid misses a lot of time LeBron becomes the favorite. Unless the Nuggets get a top 3 seed.

WTF? If there is one player that doesnt wanna take games off its Embiid. He is very aware of his injury history. Joel is the MVP this year. Deal with it

You're the one who will have a lot to deal with once the votes are in. In case you haven't noticed Biid currently projects to miss even more games

No I wont because Im already prepared for peeps like you voting him out. He is to good so you want him to get hurt just to get a reason for not putting your vote on him.

I know it is kinda funny that the guy 3rd in per behind jokic and embiid is not even talked about. Giannis so far is having the 3rd best season behind those two. Don’t be surprised if Giannis and the bucks go on a run to end the season. The thing I am more hopeful for is his improved free throw shooting that wins playoff games.

Thanks for holding me in such high regard but my opinion doesn't really matter and I ain't voting. True he has had a monster individual season, I just have a personal bias against load management so it isn't specifically about Embiid. Thing is this injury wouldn't even have been so bad for his chances if he hadn't already missed so many games. One of the reasons you have to show up every game you're available

People seriously saying if Jokic wins enough? I mean he’s 3 games behind the Lakers and is having a much much better season that LeBron. Is 3 games really the difference?

Nick Wright and Ramona shelbiurne plus Windhorst should be taken out of the voting process

I would agree with this. Depends on how many games he misses.
As a Sixers fan, based on how he landed and how he went down, IDGAF about the MVP. He will be back by early April, and that is all that matters.

Think Nick Wright doesn't have a vote this year. Did he ever have a vote even?
