Just speaking in general cause I’ve seen him get the AD comparisons a lot and I don’t really see it at all.

I have watched a ton of him this year and guys always grab rebounds over him. I mean if thats the only thing I can get on you, you are a special prospect. But I have noticed that a lot this year about his rebounding.

Wonder why

I'm you didn't like him at all coming out...and for you to say he is good now means he had to have some good impression on you![]()
I can see at least the comps (not saying he will get to AD level) but comping him to an AD college player because of his size and fluidity on the court. You can just see it how those guys move around the court...mobley doesn't move like a big. He has good touch and he is a good passer for a big. He also has great timing for blocks.
But he moves around like a wing for being a 7 footer.

Ayton. Simmons. Embiid.
That's it, going back more than a decade.
Luka, if you consider the Mavs as having drafted him. Tatum. Jaylen Brown. revisit this post next week and you can probably add lamelo to that list when the hornets have passed us in the standings
Ok I was off one or two. Still we have a lot of young talent on the roster, don't need to cry on missing out on ping pong balls.
Plus the Hornets have Denver, Lakers and Clippers coming up back to back to back. I wouldn't worry about them

A while back I was telling cgf and guys on the draft board he’s better than I gave him credit for. But he’s more like a better JJJ to me than AD, which is still pretty good.

Don't get me wrong its nowhere near the LeBron/Wade/Bosh/Melo class but it might be the highest top end since then.
I'm sold on Cade and Green as being elite, but the others I'm just meh on.
Mobley, Suggs and Kuminga all probably go #1 in last year's draft, but that was weak which is why I think this draft is so overhyped. Compared to all other top 3 prospect, (i.e. Zion, Ja, RJ, Luka, Ayton, Fultz, Tatum, etc.) I don't really see them being that much better. I wouldn't bet on more than three of the top 5 being an all-star level player let alone 4 being All-NBA which it was in 2003.
what makes you meh on Mobley/Suggs/Kum?
they are have played extremely well.
What Cade is doing with a bum OKST team with little spacing. Imagine him in the NBA? Suggs just seems like a gamer. Green already has special scorer ability...just moves are effortlessly with a jumper.
Mobley is probably the most mobile big with skills to come out since AD. Kuminga just needs to put everything together but he has all the measurables and size and strength to be a dominant two way wing.

Mobley looks good, but he hasn't really shown the post game I wanted to see from him so far. All the elite bigs that are successful (Emiid, Jokic, AD, KAT) have that post game. Plus while his 3 ball has been alright, nothing suggest its going to be consistent. He's going to need a couple years to get bigger and develop.
Kuminga, looks raw as hell. Granted he is young and the talent is obviously there, but he is far from a sure thing.
I actually like Suggs a lot. But, I put him in the Ja Morant, RJ, Bagley tier of prospects, in which he can be an all-star, but it isn't guaranteed.
I'm just saying none of these guys expect Cade and Green give me the feeling that they are destined to be elite. And if you are tanking for prospects you need to be sure they are a can't miss player.

I mean can anyone compare anyone to AD? He might be the best big of this era. I think you can just look at Mobley and see the way he moves around the court with his elite ability to protect the rim and rebound. He also has a decent shooting touch which probably is the skill set that will make him special or just a good athletic center in the NBA.
But I see him passing out of doubles finding shooters...he isn't just a rim running big thats for sure.
JJJ didn't even rebound in college and can't rebound in the pros. I liked JJJ coming out but I think Mobley is a better prospect then him.

I mean that’s why I said he’s a better JJJ lol. He can rebound better and is a better defender. They both have similar body types and not much of a post game. I don’t ever see them being #1 option type players.

technically I wouldn't really want AD as my #1 option offensively (being picky I know). Like he can do it but I think he best suited for that Robin role where he can dominate as the best #2 guy in the game. Nothing wrong with that. Since he is a great two way big.
Mobley doesn't need to a #1 option to be a home run pick. He is special on the defensive end where he doesn't need to be that Jokic/Embiid level where the offense runs through you to have a huge impact on the game.
