PJ Tucker could make quite a difference relative to Semi. Toughness & rebounding matter, and those are areas where Tucker clearly has an edge if he's not washed up yet.

But he's also a ~36 year old journeyman who is pissed b/c he thought he deserved an expensive extension from the Rockets, so I don't know if that's a good idea especially since it's not like he'll make us a contender right away.

Larry Nance in from Cleveland
Thompson out to Knicks

Kevin Knox and Grant Williams to Cavs

Cavs get 2 young players they can play and see if they have any value. A 1st round pick

Dumpster dive for 3rd center

Knicks have cap and only pick up 4.6 mil to add a center they need until Robinson gets back.

We get a legit 4 who can play some small ball 5 and defends really well.

New rotation
C Theis and Rob Williams
PF Nance and Tatum
SF Tatum and Brown and House
SG Brown and Ellington
PG Kemba and Smart and Pritchard

10 man rotation..can cut it to 8 or 9 come playoffs. Still have Langford and Neismith to keep or trade

I like this very much. I don't think Ellington gets off the bench because of lack of defense. Wish Brad would just play Nesmith more. And we all know Stevens will still play Teague so we better find a new home for him too.

I like the additions and the subtractions, but that bench seems weak.

Tucker is done done done. His rebounding rate is lower than Semi's this year.

STAT - Semi - Tucker
REB% - 8.6 - 8.2
USG - 11.8 - 7.7
TS% - .572 - .500
AST% - 5.5 - 6.2
TOV% - 7.9 - 19.0

He's scoring extremely inefficiently on non-existent usage. Basically a complete zero on offense. At least Semi scores right at our team's average TS%, on bail-out-option type usage. Tucker isn't even giving you that.

Neither guy gets assists, but Semi turns it over less.

Is Tucker "tougher" or giving you better defense? I guess maybe. I just don't want to give anything up for him. He's done.

Looking at some of the trades proposed over the last few pages, it's apparent why none of us here will ever be NBA GMs.

Try and convince me this has nothing to do with the trade deadline coming up in 11 days.

Showcasing?

Went to the Knicks forum to check out what kind of trades their forum was looking at for this trade deadline. First two trades I saw was:

1. Frank Ntilikina to Charlotte for Terry Rozier
2. Nerlens Noel to Brooklyn for Joe Harris

I thought this forum had some bad trades. Wow!!

I was thinking more raising the price by supposedly demonstrating they're sincere about wanting to keep them.

Showcasing could be in the motive mix too, of course.

DeRozan has been much better than Kemba this season. Blip, or reality going forward?

I mention this because one could construct massive deals, e.g.:

Kemba out
DeRozan in via the TPE
LMA in because San Antonio wants to dump him
Patty Mills in because why not?
Thompson out to start balancing the salary numbers
Some end-of-benchers out to keep us under the luxury tax

I don't mind a Kemba salary dump honestly. As long as it doesn't cost us a 1st. A playoff team that has an expiring might take him on.

Kemba makes about $37 million annually the next two years. It’s going to take the Celtics giving up at least one first round pick probably two first round picks to move him.

The short-term solution is to bring Kemba off the bench, like Lou Williams.

Im a fan of Theis, but ya the double big rotation needs to end and Williams should be the starting big. Which means Theis or TT would be on the outs.

Hopefully he's dealt for another big then. Williams doesn't exactly have a great track record staying healthy. He gets hurt TT is the only big on the roster.

Probably not since he is an unrestricted FA this summer. He isnt an impactful enough player to fetch a 1st in return for a risk of a half season rental.
