...not seeing why Chicago would be interested in Paschall and Looney.

I understand why Golden State would be thinking about the trade.

Shams had some rumors too, but per Amick:

On Harrison Barnes:
While this is most assuredly a “gap year,” as myself and Jason Jones wrote recently, the combination of Barnes’ play, his professionalism and his declining pay ($20.2 million next season; $18.3 million in 2022-23) is such that it will take a significant offer to pry him away. And the Kings’ ability to remain competitive, it seems, will be a factor in the decision.

Translation: A combination of late first-round draft picks and young players like the ones wearing green in Boston, it appears, likely wouldn’t be enough to get it done. The Kings are clearly still pondering the possibility of adding the kind of impact piece that they believe would put them in the playoff mix.

Does that mean Barnes won’t get moved? Never say never, but it seems the Kings are holding onto Barnes a little tighter than expected here.

and Bjelica:

Bjelica, who is a 39 percent shooter from 3 in his six seasons, is hitting 51.9 percent of his shots overall and 40 percent from beyond the arc in those 11 games while averaging 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 20.1 minutes per game. Sources close to the situation have mentioned Golden State, Boston, Indiana and Milwaukee as teams that have shown interest at various points. He’s on an expiring deal ($7.1 million this season).

Kinda thought Kings would want to dump Barnes (especially for a 1st and young guy) but I guess he's not a bad guy to have around

Haynes with some stuff too:

https://sports.yahoo.com/hoopla-with-haynes-javale-mcgee-getting-interest-from-nets-lakers-watching-hassan-whiteside-172950468.html

JaVale McGee:

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ backup center has garnered interest from top contenders, including the Brooklyn Nets who are looking to solidify their interior presence, sources told Yahoo Sports.

At this juncture, McGee is not entertaining a buyout of what’s remaining of his $4.2 million salary, sources said, so a trade is the foreseeable path toward finding the veteran big man a new home.

Tristan Thompson:

League sources said the Boston Celtics could trade their starting center by the March 25 trade deadline with the Toronto Raptors being a possible destination.

Derozan:

The San Antonio Spurs are not actively engaged in seeking out a trade for their best player, but that could change if both sides don’t work out an in-season extension leading up to the trade deadline.

Whiteside:

The Los Angeles Lakers are monitoring the developments of the Sacramento Kings’ seldom-used rim protector, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

If the defending champs strike out on landing Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond, then Whiteside would be a nice contingency plan.

Gordon:

The seven-year veteran is open to a change of scenery with the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons inquiring about trading for the versatile high-flyer, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

A dark horse squad that could join the Gordon pursuit: the Portland Trail Blazers, sources said.

The Orlando Magic value Gordon and are said to have a substantial price tag attached to his availability.

Hearing that the Kings may be trying to get Kevin Love. I have no idea why, but if they do trade for him, I'm assuming it's going to be a multi-team trade where Hield is moved elsewhere. May end up just being Bjelica, Joseph and Jabari Parker though.

Does Delon Wright, Josh Jackson and Sekou Doumbouya keep ORL GM not hanging up the phone in a Gordon trade discussion? That is probably the best Detroit offer as they can't include future FRP (obviously not trading this years and owe Houston one by 2027), and likely not trading 2021 rookie class.

Not sure why the Pistons would want Gordon with Grant already on the team. But even if they do I suspect it's unlikely Orlando goes for that package. Arguably the best part is Doumbouya and they don't need to prioritize another combo forward.

Oh lord. Can we please not block saddiq bey this soon. Especially not too slightly improve a team that’s fairly properly tanking.

Most teams build a team with the goal of making it a championship caliber team. The Kings operate with the goal of being an 8th seed. Every move they make is a highly calculated maneuver that allows them to inch ever closer to their goal of 45 wins and a first round sweep at the hands of a number 1 seed.

If you're building a team for next season, who do the Kings have that can be expected to be a passible rotation forward (SF or PF)? Pretty much just Barnes. Bjelica's a UFA (and getting old), running 3-guard sets is a big size problem and Bagley still shows flashes but day to day isn't even mediocre. Moving Barnes for EC's opens up cap space but leaves the Kings needing a lot of useful forwards to build a solid rotation. Even keeping Barnes they'd have several holes but it wouldn't be as bad.

As they should be. Collins is not a max player. Others may disagree with me, but I just don’t see him as that player. I think he’s more along the lines of $80 million over four years. He thinks he’s worth more. All it takes is one team to pay him though.

The problem is that there aren't 30 max players in the NBA, a lot of max players play on the same team, and there's going to be a lot of money out there this summer.

Oh sure. I’m with you on that. I just don’t see him being worth a max contract. I think a max will put him in the bad contract category. I think $100/4 would be fine to a team prying him away, but the Hawks are smart to be far away from the max right now. I currently think their best option is to trade him and let another team overpay him.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Collins and think he’s a good player. I just think he’s going to be overpaid this offseason. You mentioned that there aren’t 30 max players in the league and I agree with you. I also don’t think I see Collins higher than 45 and that sounds really high in my head.

Think being a max player and being worth a max is two different ideas. RFA are generally overpaid . A lot of guys are max or super max players but only a few are worth it.

I understand that full and well. RFAs are overpaid because of the exterior pressure that it takes to pry the rights from the incumbent team. Then the new team hopes that the player can improve to the point of being worth it.

I also want to point out that I believe I was working off of old information when I thought that Collins was seeking the max. Apparently he’s seeking $100 million over 4years. I believe he will get it, but it will be an overpay as I’ve said. The team getting him will be happy they got him because they have to be. I just think he’s worth $20 million less. The Hawks should still pursue a trade.
