Magic face critical NBA trade deadline choices: Who stays? Who goes? (Robbins)

Post#1 » by Knightro » Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:30 pm

Read on Twitter

Robbins went through the entire roster.

No one interested
Aminu

Not being traded
Anthony, Bamba, Fultz, Isaac, Okeke, Vucevic

No one interested, but possible salary filler in a bigger trade
Bacon, Carter-Williams, Clark

Drawing interest from contenders, but expect a light return if traded
Birch, Ennis

Most Likely to be Traded in Order
1. Fournier, 2. Gordon, 3. Ross

We have talked a lot about the big names (and the above: Bamba is interesting).

But: If Ennis can be moved for any asset, then he should not be retained. Any value to be had there needs to be maximized.

I personally do not expect Ross to traded.

If Ross is traded then I expect a bigger value than expected. I mean we aren't shopping him compared to the others right? Why would we trade him? So the other party must blow the minds out of our GMs for them to pull that trigger.

I would trade ross right now if we can get value for him

Hes literally a black hole on offense. If he gets the ball, hes not giving it up, its going to be a shot attempt even if he is triple teamed. Which is fine when hes hot, if hes hot, hes good for 30pts on any night. But when hes off, its automatic loss because our second unit is going to get blown out of the water

Not only is that a dangerous game to play, but it severely kills the offensive development of our young guys (anthony, okeke, bamba), how are those guys suppose to get into any rythm or develop any kind of offensive game when they are basically asked to get the ball to ross, stand around and then crash the boards

Hes the kind of guy who would work on playoff team whose 1st unit can offset his bad nights, and provide a spark, but for a team where hes basically asked to be the go-to guy, its a recipe for disaster

Not saying give him away, but id trade him for a mid-to-late 2021 1st rounder to a team like the blazers, warriors, hornets etc

Warrior fan...come in peace :)

Would you guys take James Wiseman and Wiggins for Nikola?

Clearly Nikola is a better player now. But Wiseman has a very bright future with very high ceiling.

Warriors are in a win now with Curry and core aging...

Wiggins gives you a year or two but Wiseman is the real value here longer term.

Sure, but you’ll have to take back Aminu too.

Plus you have to include Minn's top 3 protected pick

I'd do that. Aminu would actually help them too. (see I'm not married to Vuc)

Who wants to start the petition? We might have the worst FO, at least top 3.

I know Rubio can't shoot and is injury-prone...how's his wingspan?

Remember the old days when people on this board thought Rubio was the second coming of Jason Kidd. That didn't age well.

Why do we need Rubio?

Fultz can do a better job than him.

Pretty sure the deal was more for the pick versus Rubio who would be sent with it.

Again...for me, If Rubio is the ballast for a Beasley or McDaniels or even Nowell. I'm down...If Rubio is the big "get", I give up
