Oubre is significantly better in iso defense and tha highlight dunks Y’all. But yeah they certainly aren’t 15mm of cap space apart.

Lonzo is a spot up shooter a lot, but he’s also a great passer, which works well in their motion offense. And he’s great in transition.

Lonzo is a great fit as a backup PG here, but he’s expiring just like Oubre and probably won’t re-sign to be a backup. I wish that it fit better but it doesn’t.

Same.....without getting him in here first this season, I don’t see a path to adding him next off season. We can’t offer him anything but the MLE

I hope they keep Oubre long term. I think he’s a good piece on a title contender as a #3/4 option if Klay comes back decent, and Wiggins can be the best version of himself. Don’t think Lonzo makes sense here- Jordan Poole can do a lot of what he does, so I’d much rather develop him into a solid backup PG than to trade assets for Ball, who’s probably as good as he’ll ever be (I really like Lonzo).

Very interesting, very accurate. Oubre has a higher ceiling and is friskier on defense, but Bazemore can handle with a higher bball IQ.

Oubre is way more explosive than Bazemore. To me, I don’t see the comparison. But no big.

And I’d like to bring Bazemore back next season if he remains cheap. He can do a bit of everything and he has some core chemistry.

I don't know, I'm guessing that if they were both FAs next summer, Oubre would get offers in the $12-16M range, while Bazemore would be searching for a minimum contract.

And Bazemore? The Warriors like him but otherwise I wonder if he'd stay in the league.

Bazemore comes cheap. I don’t see another team jumping up to pay or overpay Baze. He’s a good fit and cheap. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Baze has been fantastic for what we've paid him. I'd be more concerned another team would swoop him for a few mill more on a multi year deal.

Baze is having his highest shooting year, well above career averages. But it’s only on 16.6 MPG and low volume of attempts.

Someone may offer him a few hundred thou over the minimum.

If the Warriors offer him another minimum deal, he may walk for another minimum deal like Javale did.

Didnt Javale walk because we signed Cousins?

Well, in parallel Poole is coming on and we are theoretically re-signing Oubre for 20mm (throwing up in my mouth a little) who would displace Baze in the rotation

Well, it all depends on how he looks the second half of the season, of course, but IMO Oubre isn't getting $20M from anybody. I could see him getting an offer of something like, 3 yr/40-45M, max. And the Warriors might go that high if nothing happens before the trade deadline.

If Oubre is a Warrior on March 26th then we failed.

If Oubre is a Warrior on November 1st, then I legitimately (not joking here) believe our run is over. Because the only way he's staying is if he gets paid and keeps his starting job, and both of those things would kill us

I absolutely agree with with. Not to pile on, but did you hear his interview this week? He's a got some serious "Kyrie" space cadet who thinks he's a deep thinker vibes going on. Do not want.

While theres some absolute type statements that I think is a bit further than I typically like to go, cant disagree with the thinking. Oubre has proven himself to not be a fit even at his current yearly salary. Paying him more would be foolish IMO and would either indicate the braintrust not recognizing it or (more likely) so desperate to not care.

There is a third possibility, that they believe he can and does fit and can be a valuable contributor.

Or they're unable to trade him at the deadline and they have reason to believe Klay won't be ready at the start of next season so they have no other choice but to try to extend him, up to a certain price.

Because otherwise, they can't add someone making over $10 million a year.

Obviously that would fit under the first option (not recognizing he doesnt fit).
