As I said a few pages ago. if a trade doesn't involve Jalen or Kemba, it's not going to make much of a difference. I suppose trading Smart would make a difference, but the effect would be entirely negative.

I actually think getting at least one player who is good changes the squad quite a bit. Domino effect

Taking mins away from bad players and giving them that a good one takes a lot of pressure off Jays to be perfect and come playoffs gives Brad a legit roster

I think it will be a combination of 2 things that will make a big difference.

1. A trade, if not Harrison Barnes, for a veteran player who can help in the playoffs.

2. The improved play of Robert Williams.

What Rob is doing now is really special.
Very few players in the league can do what Rob is doing on offense and defense.

Agree on Timelord, but I don't see a cheap veteran out there who is significantly better than what we have. Maybe George Hill would help, maybe not. The best option is probably Harrison Barnes, but that will require a team taking TT off our hands. We become hard capped at 139M and the tax line is 132.6 million. The Celtics are at roughly 120M of payroll at the moment and Barnes makes 22M.

Yeah, that's the one! I was thinking the same about giving the full 100 pages, but we can always give it a full 150+ if we get to 15.

I don't want to encourage Fierce1 any more than necessary... :)

I never really dug on Linkin Park's emo/nu-metal stylings, so I definitely am sick of being reminded of that song.

Though you don't necessarily want to blow your wad on the next thread title too early, considering we are definitely getting in at least two more 100 page trade threads before the deadline. Possibly more than two with the way Fierce1 posts.

Makes sense if the Celts trade TT to a team like Toronto for a draft pick then use the TPE on Barnes.

That will put the Celts below the tax line.

Gordon just slammed down fox’s throat for a dunk and then kicked the ball out to terry for a 3 to take the lead with like a min left before beating sac.

Another loss for the kings for those keep track of the Barnes watch lol

I saw the last 2 minutes of that game.

The more the Kings lose, the more the price of Barnes goes down.

I am a little worried we don't name the next on Ainge too Proud to Beg as we'll all have moved on by, say noon Wed...

If Bagley is out for weeks then the Kings might want Grant Williams to be part of the package for Harrison Barnes.

Celts will not pay tax if it's Harrison Barnes.

Barnes has a declining contract.

This season he's 22.2m.
Next season he will be 20.3m.
And in the last season of his contract, he'll just be 18.35m.

Now you’re talking! Love it.
I honestly don’t recognize this current thread’s title from anything — figured it was a movie quote or a song lyric and I guess I’m right:).

You have to send out ~$7M to not pay it this year. Grant and 1st for Barnes sans other moves = tax.

Talk about your classics, I came up with “It Don’t Mean a Thing if Danny Ainge Got that Swing”

And what do I hear? Crickets. Nada.
