You call the first timeout to see what the Knicks will do and then you make no adjustments? Unbelievable...

BTW, I agree with you. Even a below average in-game coach would have adjusted better, so that we don't have to sweat out a nail-biter. For all his interpersonal and administrative strengths, Nash's actual coaching during the game is a net negative (pun intended).

Good point, their network didn't even believe they would win!

Julius Randle was big mad. We got away with one. We have to do a better job closing out teams. It shouldn’t have came down to this at the end.

We had so many chances to blow this game open, but kept letting them hang around. We got complacent for sure.

Knicks are a decent team this year though. Top 5 defense, multiple guys that can get hot, and Julius Randle is playing like a legit superstar this season...extremely worthy All-Star selection. No shame in getting into a dogfight with them, but given we were up by double digits like all game after the 1st quarter, and were up by as much as 18, we shouldn't have had it come down to the last possession like that.

Good win . Hopefully hardens three ball wil return soon because it’s looking like Ben Simmons shooting the three ball in the last three game. However his playmaking is just insane

Kyrie is unfair man. Not sure if there is a human alive who can defend him one on one.

Lol Waking up to all these angry and excited Knicks fans is hilarious.

“We should’ve won!”

“We just need 1 more piece to beat them”

“They aren’t the real NY”

While MSG still hasn’t aired the replay of the game. Lmao.

This is why I'm not hitting the panic button over two close games against the Pistons and Knicks. First of all, the Knicks aren't a bad team, they are well coached and play hard. After being in their shoes a few seasons ago I know full well how a team like that can hang around in games in where they are in over their head, and Randle is a legit all star big man that can score inside and out.

That being said, if we had KD, we probably beat them by 18+ easily. When we have the team complete we aren't going to be able to be stopped.

That was a pretty fun game last night. Should've won handily but definitely got complacent all around during a couple spurts in the 3rd and 4th quarters. At least when Harden's 3's aren't falling, he's still setting other guys up, commanding double teams, and grabbing boards to direct fast breaks.

Still incredible that the guys have been playing this way without KD. Hope to see the big guy back soon.

17 14 15 is awful?

Harden has us straight spoiled. Anything less than 30, 15 and 15 on good efficiency feels like a lackluster effort!

shooting woes aside I thought Harden made several key plays to help us win that game and his passing was sublime. I don't understand where this is coming from.

I think two key things were that Nash should not have Joe Harris inbounding the ball on high pressure plays like that. Joe is not a good inbounds passer, he gets too jittery. Also, not having that last time out kind of screwed us because Nash didn't have time to draw up anything.

So yeah. not what you want to see from a championship team at the end of a game. Guys can't just stand there watching someone getting swarmed, guys need to come running to the ball. Nash needs to review what happened last night because it won't be the last time teams try to do that to us, we got complacent.

Please put Mitchell Robinson on the court, watching him bite on every pump fake and be out of position on defense every other play will be comical...

Honestly I'm not blaming Nash for that. We used all our timeouts. We got our shooters on the floor. We spread the court out. Guys need to make plays. It felt like our players were caught off guard that the Knicks were going for the steal instead of just intentionally fouling. Props to the Knicks too. They were active - they were physical and didn't foul.

My only issue with Nash end of game was that we had DJ on Randle for a good chunk of crunch time. Green should've been the guy guarding him with Brown on the floor instead of DJ.

Outside of that, we were a little too willing to concede dunks at the end. I know you're guarding the 3pt line. I know you want to avoid and-1s or fouls but you can't just give up automatic 2s. After Harden's FTs pushed it to 7 - we gave up an RJ Barrett dunk in 6 seconds. Then - after the jump ball - we gave up a Randle dunk in 5 seconds. There's a balance between not giving up a 3 + knowing that ONE stop shuts the door on the game.

Lol to Steven a Smith crying tears of joy for how well the Knicks are and saying it reminds him of when the Knicks were relevant. Too funny. Yeah the nets got bored and let the foot of the gas. Sure all Knicks. I’ll give them credit for not giving up and playing hard. But harden shot like crap. And the nets stopped playing hard once they got up big.

Uhh...didn’t we blow the Knicks out at the Garden on National TV?

The Nets aren’t even exactly finished adding to the roster, so the giddiness to face the 100% healthy Nets is pretty damn ballsy.

I’m pretty sure that beat down happened the same day of the Harden deal which means we beat this same Knicks team including Robinson, Frank...without Harden, LeVert, Allen, Dinwiddie...and it wasn’t really close tbh.
