The Magic should draft....

Post#1 » by Priest24 » Sat Mar 13, 2021 5:33 pm

It looks as if the Magic will end up having a high draft pick this year so who should they draft to address their needs? Personally I would like to see them get Green who seems like a natural scorer.
My opinion may not be your opinion or their opinion but I have it.

At the likely slot of #6, I can easily see this management drafting Moses Moody.

Should?

Cade, Suggs, Green

Which means they probably end up with:

Kuminga, Barnes, or Mobley

Obviously Cunningham, Suggs or Green are the prime answers here. Hopefully the Magic get one of those 3 and the fortunes of the team change. I’d like to see the best scorer of the bunch be that guy. The Magic need that beyond badly.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Gotta widen the options.

Cunningham and Green might go 1 and 2 and there's certainly no guarantee the Magic are picking that high.

Well in order

Cade

Suggs

Green

If we pick 4 and below, mim curious.. do we trade down for a Bouknight or Moody to a team so we get additional assets?

1. Cunningham
2. Green
3. Suggs
4. Mobley
5. Kuminga
6. Don't let it get to 6.

There are 5 talents in this draft worth building around. They all happen to fit with our young guys (though some the fit is more shoehorned than others) so you draft the best available and trade the pieces you need to to make it fit.

It just so happens that the top 3 on my list fit our team regardless. Mobley would require a Vuc trade, Kuminga is the worst fit and would require a few more creative moves IMO (trade Vuc, Isaac at the 5).

Olrnaod could really, really use a SG, SF or combo-wing in the coming draft. If Cunningham and Green are off of the board, I do like Moody and Bouknight as the next two up.

Moody in particular: Orlando can profit from a spot-shooter with good measurements.

Cunningham Green and Suggs you mean? Because for me, Suggs is just a shorter more athletic Cade( If you call 6'4-6'5 short nowadays)

But yes, Im curious and wouldn't be all that angry if we trade Kuminga/Mobley for say Moody/Bouknight plus picks/asset.

But that's all hypothetical cuz we are getting Cade!!! lol

No I do not mean that. I would rather Orlando trade-down for Moody than draft Suggs, for example.

Really? Curious, why don't you like Suggs? Everyone and I agree said that before Cade just picked up his game and blew up, Suggs was the clear-cut #1. I mean aside from 3 inches, I think he is like Cade but more athletic.

I think the Magic needs a combo wing more than a combo guard. It is about fit. I do not see Suggs as a strong fit with Fultz.

Unfortunately, you are right. We are the fourth worst team in the NBA, we SHOULD be drafting the BPA. However, we have to much money dedicated to Fultz, Isaac and Vuc to not draft based on fit.

Players can be traded after we figure out who is better. We MUST pick BPA.

Or trade down gaining more assets.

Lol this FO isn’t trading down. They’ll take BPA before they work for more assets

Why wouldn't he? Suggs has the scoring ability and threat from all 3 levels, something Fultz hasn't shown yet. His passing , ball handling and court vision might duplicate Fultz but I don't see that as a problem. Fultz at 1 and Suggs at 2 is a perfect fit.

Now if you mean Suggs won't fit with Cole and Fultz together, I understand that.

Yes I mean roster-fit. Orlando does not need another PG. And desperately needs wings.
