You can thank GB for drawing up that contract and forcing them to cut him now. Either way it worked out.

Well if you wanted Watson it would have been better to stop trading away all of your draft picks only to trade one of the top 3 wrs for a broken down RB and a 2nd rounder. At this point it's too late, take what you can get and start over. Three firsts including the #8 pick this year? I am taking that at this point.

Didn't realize Watson was 35 years old

Oh not too late for Watson, too late for an organization that has done everything possible to not support their QB. People complain about the Packers not getting Rodgers weapons.....look at what Houston did to Watson. I would want out too. I don't think there is any way to mend their relationship so take 3 firsts while you can imo.

The Houston roster isn't wildly different than Packers circa 2017 or 2018.
I think guys like Watson don't realize how quickly it can change back. Watson's odds of success are better in Houston than most trade destinations. Houston can start building over their cap issues right now. Instead, if he was trade to Chicago, they'd be left with minimal cap space and no 1st round picks for 5 years. I realize Houston did that to themselves but they are now at least on the tail end of it.
Miami I could see, but it makes sense for almost no parties involved to trade these guys. Not Houston, maybe the team acquiring him (but they'd have a hard time building), and probably not even Watson, though I understand he doesn't like the organization.

Things can turn around quick in the NFL and Watson just signed his contract. He might be unhappy now but there's plenty of time to mend fences. If he can be happy enough to sign an extension and then get to the point were he wants out within less then a years time it stands to reason the reverse is also possible if given say 2 years.Profound23 wrote:RRyder823 wrote:Profound23 wrote:

That's assuming Houston's management knows what they're doing. Cal McNair is an incompetent meddler. The GM needs to be a genius for the team just to achieve mediocrity.

I'm wondering if the price for Fuller is a 1 year 5-7.5M dollar deal and then jump back on the market next year when the cap is back up?
