Why not? Harden tanked on his team and you are considering him. This is a regular season award. What happened in the playoffs means nothing.

Nope after today

Bron +125
Jokic +250
Embiid +600
Giannis +1000
Harden +1200
Luka +1300
Steph +1600
Dame +2000
Kawhi +3300

Luka is gaining a lot of steam recently too. Harden will likely finish top 5 specially with Joel missed games taking him out but hes not close to the favorite to win it and likely wont be top 3. Its prolly gonna be Bron, Jokic and one of Giannis or Luka ahead of Harden by the end if not both

I’m cool with anyone but Bron winning it. I’m so fuggin sick of him being propped up by the media. If anyone watched the games they would notice he isn’t the same guy he was even a few years ago.

Imagine 2018-19 Harden solo act if both Durant/Irving miss a ton of games together. Or wait if that’s does happen boom 40 point triple double consistently lol. He’s absurd top 3 at bare minimum.

Harden is a top 4 player right now but yeah that monster who was putting up 60-10-11 or 53-17-13 in Houston is still in there but he dosent need to go there to often anymore

Yeah that Monster will eventually come out if both Irving/Durant miss games together. The list is very much like that Rockets one once you take those two out. If he puts those godly bigger than video game stats any discussion about Harden not winning it is just ignorance now. What Lebron is doing at his age is phenomenal but i’m against recognition awards. This has been one of his worst years.

Hardens had two runner ups another top 3 finish. He’s been in MVP contention for the past 6 years this year is no different just easier because he’s in the East.

This is fact but Hardens MVP wasn’t close to his best year lol. Double standards galore. I feel for Lillard too. Didn’t get a look in last year.

He's been the best player in the world but hasn't won an MVP in 8 years. Your narrative boat has a big leak.

Yeah, 26/8/8 and a top 5 league record is trash. It’s all media propping.

Lebron regressing the last few years doesn’t make other players better.

I think Lebron cements whether he wins or not during the first three weeks in April. There's an 8 game road trip in 11 days plus two turns at home vs. Utah soon thereafter. If he keeps the Lakers afloat with the top records in the league, it's more or less his. If not, you've got a bunch of guys who are candidates with no clear path. You've got Harden forcing his way out of Houston reflecting poorly on him. Denver although making a push at the moment, is still out of the thick of the top. Embiid missed a share of games because of the knee. Then you've got Giannis who figures to be in the thick at the top of the East and the unquestioned alpha on his own ball club but voter fatigue and playoff failure narratives. You'd have a real debate that could split a lot of voters.

lol, i did not get this analogy. Its like you started with an analogy and just ended with "ah f it, its just easier in the East" Unless easier environment means something to hit men? :idk:

Yeah, LeBron not having won an MVP for 8 years when he's been the best player is a blemish that needs correction, he's the all-time leader in MVP award shares with 8.8. Would have come last year if Giannis wasn't crazy dominant with a DPOY too.

Well two months ago Harden wasn’t in the race. Last month ehh maybe. Two weeks ago ehh maybe, now it’s the narrative . Trust me in a month he will be beating the door down at this rate. Right now no one is carrying his team better then harden.

The amount of excuses people try to find because they don’t like him . Objectively given how many times both Kyrie and KD have missed game and all the while he has carried them to 14 wins out the last 15 games it’s outlandish to say he is not even in the top 5? What are the criteria’s? He is doing them all and more

It's a regular season award, LeBron hasn't been the best player in the world during the regular season since Miami. He wasn't snubbed any of those 8 years (but probably was earlier in his career).

Giannis and Jokic leading in every metric out there. With a good record to boot for Giannis, idc about voter fatigue this is a regular season award. Harden, Giannis, Jokic and Embiid should be leading the pack.

I don't care what metric Giannis is leading but he's the most limited player out there amongst all the players in MVP consideration. He looks completely lost when his team is a tight situation and his skillset is very limited. He shouldn't be there in the MVP conversation unless Jokic, Embiid, Lebron, Harden, Dame etc are disqualified. Anyone who watches the game knows that he's taking the Bucks nowhere!

1. Embiid (Gets the benefit of his stellar play for 1 more week. After that he drops below 5. GS played is extremely important)
2. Jokic (What can I say.. He's DA MAN right now)
3. Lebron (LAL to stay in top 5 league overall for a chance without AD- else will drop)
4. Dame (Has the better cast when compared to Jokic and Lebron sans AD. Only reason he is 4)
5. Luka (Was my initial pick to be MVP. Is climbing up the ladder as DAL wins more)
6. Harden (Would be number 1/2 if not for the fiasco at the beginning of the season. Big fan of Harden but that cannot be discounted. It happened.)

Rest is noise..

Haha yeah the context I was going for was like a international professional hitman now taking on lower level easier jobs in suburbia. Like hell with it I’ll stay til one at the strippers beforehand this job is a piece of cake.

What happened the previous 8 years shouldn’t count towards mvp votes this year. It’s not a lifetime achievement award.
