He was in the game at the end when they blew a 12 pt lead thanks to the Russ iso show.

nate33 wrote:After a horrific start, Bertans is slowly bringing his season averages up to career norms. He has been outstanding ever since recovering from Covid.
Last year, he shot 42.4% from 3-point range on 10.7 attempts per 36 with a TS% of .628.
So far this season, he is shooting 38.4% from 3-point range on 10.7 attempts per 36, with a TS% .598.
Over the last 16 games, he is shooting 45.5% from 3, on 9.7 attempts per 36, with a TS% of .695.

Shooting 38% after going for 42% last year. He is not rebounding not really playing much defence.

Bertans had conditioning issues due to Covid at the start of the season (at first because he was stuck in quarantine and couldn't workout, and then because he got Covid and couldn't workout). In his first 12 games, he shot just .337 from 3. Since the Covid hiatus, Bertans has been fine, with no real difference from last season.
In the last 21 games, he is averaging 15.7 points per 36, shooting .420 from 3 on 10 attempts per 36. His rebounding is a bit worse but some of that is the Westbrook Effect. I don't think his defense looks any worse than last year.

These are his point tallies in his last 6 games.
He is 13/35 37% from 3 in the last six games.
He’s pulled down 15 rebounds (2.5rpg) in his last six games. So he isn’t hitting the boards at all. He is under 1 assist a game. So literally has no offence outside of shooting the rock.
He’s played 34 out the possible 39 games for the wizards this season. So I wouldn’t say he hasn’t been available to play much.
What is the go? Have we been fooled by the contract year output again?
Yes I understand the covid symptoms can linger in ways we don’t understand. But he’s either fit enough to play or he needs to rest and get too 100%.
Because right now he is no where near being the laser we watched last season, and at $16 Million per year for the next 5 seasons after this.... this is starting to look very ugly.

He has 4 years left after this one. 3 FULLY guaranteed.
Remember, the last year is partial guarantee... only $5M

So much for the idea of trading him.

Bertans signed for 5 years, while Saric for 3.

Delusional homer statement.
Delusional? I think you may be overrating Klay, but I digress.
You just compared Bertans to Saric, One is a net positive on the court... the other a negative, but sure, Saric was a bit cheaper.
#sowizards
Bertans is better than Bojan, Bogdan, Morris, Jeremi Grant, Beasley, Barnes, Randle, Rozier, etc... all players that are getting about the same or more than Bertans.
What is the complaint?
And to circle back to Klay:

Bertans vs Klay... Both age 27.
Sorry, but Im not seeing it. Klay is one of the more overrated players of this generation. Playing with Steph & KD, Im not impressed.
Bertans is more efficient, draws more fouls, and rebounds more while playing with trash in comparison to that GSW team.

Some of the posts in this thread did not age well.
