Why would the Pels want Semi?

Semi should be playing in China.

Pels lack any kind of size out on the perimeter. Semi at least brings some size out on the perimeter (Ingram is the only non guard perimeter player on the team). Plus the Pels move the ball very well (especially after taking away all ball duties from Beldsoe). I think Semi would have a better chance of getting into rhythm and taking more 3s with the Pels team. I know you all think your bench is bad, the Pels bench is much worse, Semi would be the 2nd best bench player haha.

I know that even NBA stiffs are 'amazing' at basketball but I swear I've played pickup with guys who are better than Semi Ojeleye.

I haven't, and I played pickup for a Summer in North Jersey (Asbury Park), where there were some pretty good players. For starters, if Ojeleye guarded you would never get a shot off.

Doesn't Semi have like 2 career blocked shots?
To be clear I'm not comparing myself to Semi. Just guys I've been on the court with, long ago now in Washington DC.

Yeah, well we always new the price was going to be high as:

A) They don't really want to move him

and

B) He's an all-star.

Anyone wanting him is going to overpay

If the Pels would trade Meli and a 2nd pick for Semi, I'm all in!

Right, when Jrue Holiday got three 1sts+ it set the market. Jrue is a good player, on most nights an above average starter, and was an All-Star once, in what, 2014?

Yeah, Holiday was an All-Star in 2013.
He's not a big man, yet the Bucks spent 3 1st rounders on him.

I'm not really a big fan of Vooch, but he's a 2-time All-Star and a big man.
There's just no way Jrue Holiday is more expensive than Vooch.

At least one of the 1sts was for dumping Bledsoe.

Have you played against NBA players? I have. When I was a junior in H.S. at a basketball camp and thought I was pretty good, one of the counsellors was a former NBA player. At that time he was 40+ with a paunch. He asked, want to play one on one? I said sure and then he proceeded to beat me 20-0. He blocked my first shot and then he made 19 straight shots from beyond the top of the key. He was 6-6 and I had no chance to block one.
That cut me down a peg or three.

I have never said I dribble the basketball so sexy.
I'm just growing desperate in my belief that there must be dozens/hundreds/thousands of guys out there who should be starting an NBA game for us instead of Semi **** Ojeleye. Maybe millions. Hell humblebum, first of his name, may be one of them!

Listening to Danny Ainge on Toucher & Rich.

The host said he is changing his mind whether the Celtics should make a deal or not but asked Ainge, What would you like to say to the fans if you don't make a deal this week? Ainge replied "Why don't we wait until next week to answer that question".

Sounded to me like Ainge has a few things that could get done before next Thursday.

Ainge, next Thursday: we had a couple of things that we were really close on. But the price was a little too high and we really like our guys.

He also seemed like he didn't know why Nesmith wasn't getting minutes.

Ainge said that Stevens is going with ball handlers (Pritchard and Teague) so that Tatum and Brown don't have to bring the ball up all the time. Nesmith is not a ball handler. Don't have to agree but that was the reasoning.

I know a lot of us are pooping on Ainge for not making any deadline moves last year, but let’s remember - we didn’t really have any contracts to move. Smart was the only mid-tier guy, really, and there was no chance we were going to get him.

As for the proceeding years - Ainge had his eyes on the prize - AD. If Kyrie doesn’t go crazy and AD doesn’t sign with Klutch, Banner 18 is in the rafters. He went all-in by not doing anything, and unfortunately, all we have left is a Conference Finals appearance, followed by a team playing .500 ball.

If there’s one real thing that I’m mad about, it’s the fact that Ainge wasn’t more aggressive in moving up in the draft. Could be his fault, could be the fact that others are too scared to deal with him even when he’s willing to overpay (see 2015). But man, Halliburton would have been so nice to have on this squad. Oh well
