If lonzo wants the Knicks- klutch probably wants the Knicks also and his dad has really taken a back seat in lonzo’s career the last 24 months but if they want New York they’ll go on a media campaign bashing us. Lavar just **** on the pels lol
Not sure I’d risk it tho I do think he’d be great here

I’d trade for Lonzo only because it would mean that some of the people on this board would now have a voice (and a loud one at that!) in Lavar Ball. He wouldn’t be afraid to criticize Brad Stevens, which apparently is a taboo thing to do if you work for Boston media. Lol

If the Knicks offer Quickley, we have no way to beat the offer. We have no way to get him and we can't afford to keep him without trading Kemba. We need to get f*cking lucky this deadline.

Seriously, I'd be reluctant to offer much in trade for an impending RFA with uneven play and a family talent for hype.

The general board thinks we should fire Stevens and Ainge to "fix" the team, and "BrooklynDynasty" says Kyrie left, Hayward left, Horford left, and there's something wrong with the "culture"

Oh yeah easy. KO is better than Theis folks
Not better than Theis, but definitely has a skillset that this team is missing.

I was hoping we’d get Halliburton in the draft as a good compliment to the Jays, but Ball would be a consolation prize.
Not sure if it’s that he hates NO the city, or the team, or maybe his role, or Stan, but in any case Papa Ball mace have just knocked over the first domino.
He’d be great at the right price but let’s face it, if he wants NY and they want him that’s the likely outcome. Danny’s not going to get into a bidding war.

For the right price, I'd like Lonzo added to the team but it kind of only makes sense if the Celtics get very good offers for Smart and Brown and trade them both as a part of a rebuilding plan which Ainge/Wyc/Stevens are not interested in doing.
And come to terms with Ball on an extension before the trade. Not sure if this is even legal.
In other words, it isn't happening. Celtics are risk averse and do not want to take 3 or 4 (more) steps back even if its the most likely way to move 6 or 7 steps forward. Team has already obviously taken a few steps back this year but it wasn't really intentionally.
But starting more of a rebuild with Tatum/Ball and a few youngsters like Williams/Nesmith and tons of picks appears to be a better course of action than the Celtics current trajectory.
The odds of winning it all with Kemba Walker on the team at max salary and no great big are just very remote. The question is the strength the Celtics emerge post Kemba Walker.
Teams best chance may be to trade Brown/Smart for picks -- I like both players but Celtics right now are stuck in the middle -- and give Ainge (or better yet Sam Hinkie) a better chance to build via the draft and free agency. I realize Hinkie has gone into private sector but perhaps he can be lured back.
Unlike you and many others I am not necessarily impressed with EC Finals appearances. I really think 81-82, 82-83, 2010-11 (until Shaq got injured) Celtics were much closer to a championship than these Stevens coached EC Finals participants have been. The Celtics under Stevens in the EC Finals haven't been narrowly losing to the NBA champion. They have usually been much further away than that. I am not even blaming Brad Stevens for that but I think its just an honest reality check of where the Celtics have been if the goal is truly to win another championship banner.

It can't be fixed unless the J's start playing team basketball-- not by Ainge, not by Stevens, not by anyone. If they fire Stevens he'll have another job in 15 minutes. How would you like to see him coaching Atlanta or Orlando and kicking our teeth in 4-5 times a year?

Hoping for a starting 5 of Smart, Brown, Tatum, Collins and R. Williams in a few weeks.
Considering Kemba's healthy, but will likely choke in the playoffs, now is the time to deal him.

If we wanted to hedge our bets and trade for now and future...here is a 5 team trade (because we all know they're likely and happen all the time).
https://tradenba.com/trades/hBwPXgY75
BOS: Lonzo Ball, Wood, Ross, Iguodala
MIA: Oladipo, TT
ORL: Walker, Bledsoe
NOP: Wall, Nunn, BOS 2023 FRP
HOU: Fultz, Reddick, Olynyk, Fournier, BOS 2025 FRP
Boston gets a more suitable PG in style and age for Tatum/Brown, a promising young PF and bench vets with scoring.
Miami gets an SG in prime age and a good defensive backup centre.
Orlando gets a more experienced and better PG combo without losing their frontcourt.
New Orleans gets PGs of better fit (debatable) and out of having to pay Ball, Bledsoe and Reddick and a FRP.
Houston get Fultz who is young and started to show something on a decent long term contract, a bunch of expiring salaries and a FRP.
Trade/cut Edwards/Green/Teague
Get cheap backup centre banger type like Baynes
Ball/Brown/Tatum/Wood/R.Williams
Smart/Ross/Iguodala/Ojeleye/Theis
PP/Langford/Nesmith/G.Williams/Baynes
Waters/Fall
