Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year
Curry rebounds well for a small not all that fast NBA player. Curry get's a good head start on rebounds.
The Collins twin that played in Atlanta had stats showing that his team rebounded much better when he was on the floor even though he Was not getting the rebounds. Collins boxed out and his teammats got the rebounds.
I hear people saying that Wiseman has to get stronger but I am not sure that lack of strength is the problem.

Agree. You do't have to be gargantuan to box someone out. It helps, but being proactive and winning position early matters more than anything. You see Curry boxing out a lot this year and walling off potential rebounders - and like you said, it's not because he's a tall fella.

Lack of strength is absolutely one of the problems. There's a lot of ways to attack it.
I really cant go into why Curry rebounds well for the millionth time but being a team that tries to force perimeter looks while guarding the smallest player who's not handling the ball *MIGHT* play into it

Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year 1
I’m ready for a change in philosophy......instead of having the big get back on defense, crash the offensive board and let the others out on the wings get back on defense.
Wiseman smashing put backs seems more prudent to me than having him worry more about being the first one back on defense.

Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year 1
I'm still high on Wiseman but this season has been super frustrating so far with all the roadblocks in the way of his development. No summer league, no training camp, no preseason, the wrist injury and now covid tracing. The guy really needs some consistent time on the court to get in some type of groove.

What's their record with and without Wiseman playing?

When he was injured for 11 games they were 5-6

Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year 1
I’ve got no worries with Wiseman. I’m annoyed by the stuff that has happened around him and by him. But it doesn’t deter me one bit.
I think he’s going to be great, but I’m also not against making a big move if one makes sense.

Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year 1
It's really unfortunate, because I felt like he was starting to play more loose in the few games he's played post all star break...and now here we are with another period of missed games.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Unless he takes a massive leap I don't see him being playable in the next 2 years in the playoffs. I'm not saying he's a bust, but he needs a ton of work before he's even a regular season contributor.

Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year 1
He's had a rough season.
What ive seen so far:
The Good
Hes got the talent and size to be a star.
His inexperience like where to be, what he can and cant do, and positioning will come with time.
The Bad
Hes got a real low motor.
Hes got bad reflexes. For this, i dont know if everything is too fast or hes just slow.

He's 19.
ofc he needs to get stronger and he will with a full offseason strength and conditioning program and a professional chef.

Wiseman needs to improve his reflex muscles & quickness. Even if he does that he's going to constantly get put on an island in the playoffs by quick guards. Even Gobert gets smoked in the playoffs.

Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year 1
He's got to show improvement next season.
Needs to be stronger and just have drilled to death a couple of shots and moves.
I don't want to hear "he's only 20" or "he's only played x number of NBA games." Every offseason counts starting with the first one.

Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year 1
What is Wiseman's offensive role on this team when Klay is back? i mean Curry Klay Wiggins will be top 3 options and our shooters will also need to shoot. Looking at his defense he is completely lost and needs a few year to get there. I am totally lost on why we want to keep him and how he will fit with rest of the team..basically you either break Curry/Klay offense for wiseman iso or you trade him early, hopefully to land a star so that we can have another push..

His ideal role is as a 6th man where he can just come in and focus on scoring and blocking a few shots. He is just going to get in the way of the starters if he’s out there with them.

Is there anyone in the league over seven feet tall who doesn't get "put on an island by quick guards"? Asking for a friend.

Re: WISEMAN EXPECTATIONS: Year 1
Has he had 10 or more rebounds in any game this season?
Or more than 2 blocks?
Or scored over 25 points?
