Cade looks like he's kind of just going through the motions out there right now.

I wonder.. Cade does have a history of suddenly stepping on the pedal after a lackluster first half. Hope we see it.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Cade will not be a star. He might make a few all-star games but he will not be a cornerstone of a franchise. I have no idea what happened today but I just haven’t seen ‘it’ all year. Sure, he’s gotten hot during games but I don’t see a dynamic enough player to be a superstar.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Cade and Moody struggled in Round 1 yesterday.
Barnes is struggling today. FSU better be careful here or they could be one and done.
Hopefully Suggs and Mobley give a better performance this afternoon.
Bouknight plays between Suggs and Mobley so I’ll make sure to catch that as well.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Incredibly frustrating game by Barnes today. Both from the perspective of a fan and the perspective of someone who likes him a lot as a prospect. This is one of those nights where I found myself nearly screaming "do something" at the tv screen. His passiveness is even more frustrating than Isaac's was. Mostly because Barnes has the ball in his hands so much. Isaac hardly ever touched it at FSU and was never asked to be a primary playmaker/ball handler.
Barnes just has a lot more opportunities and a longer leash. One thing I will say is he struggles a bit against super athletic defenders like the guard he faced today. I think he was rattled and just couldn't get anything going. 5 pretty awful turnovers.
He's still a top 7 guy to me, but these are some of the reasons why he's not in my first tier of players.

Nice first half for Mobley.
13 PTS, 8 REB, 3 BLK and hit the only three he took.

Mobley is talented for sure. He should be a top 4 pick. Maybe top 3 depending on where you rank Kuminga.

I have a bold prediction : Kuminga might be out of the top 5 if Bouknight and Moody goess depp in the NCAAT and impresses. Too bad for Kuminga I dont think the GL has any more games that might showcase his talent and skills, so his last chance might be the combine/workout/etc before the draft.

I really don’t think the world is as high on Bouknight as you are. I don’t think they are ever going to be either.
He could go top 10 with a strong showing and strong workouts but top 5 is 100% not happening.
Moody has a better chance. Moody is very much in the runny for the “best of the rest” and the #6 spot right now. So no reason he can’t sneak into the top 5 if the right team falls in love with him.

After AG is soon to be traded and Isaac’s continued injuries, I would not put it past WeHam to fall in love with Mobley.
Then get Evan to take the MLE and roll it back.

I wouldn't mind taking Mobley as long as Green, Suggs, Cade, and maybe Kuminga were off the board. You have to take BPA. At the same time, you have to then make roster changes.

Oh, absolutely. If we land at #4 or 5 and Cade, Suggs and Green are gone then Mobley would be a great talent to add to the mix. Isaac and Mobley would be ferocious.
However ... what if we land at #2 where Cade goes #1 and WeHam selects Mobley ahead of Suggs and Green? What do you say to that?

Mobley is impressive this year. He is not just another long tall project. Dude can play basketball and has plenty of room to grow.
I like kumunga but his lack of shooting scares me, hes gonna take time.
Cade/Suggs/Green are my favorites for our team.
We need a top 4 pick to get one. Mobley will go 2 or 3 to a team like Det/Cle.

Re: Official 2021 NBA Draft Thread
Mobley is a good player. Arguably even a really good one. I just don't see special && that's what I would need to see in order to feel comfortable taking a center top 5 in this draft class. He has the tools to be but I'm just not seeing it yet.
He's played well today though. Both brothers have. Drake just hasn't been able to handle the size down low.

No way I'm happy about that scenario. BPA all day over fit but this is not 90's era basketball. Mobley may be 'better' than Suggs and Green (who really knows at this point?) but there is no way his impact will be higher than the guards if all 3 reach similar ceilings. It's a similar conversation to Ayton vs Doncic in 2018.

We never had a chance to pick Embiid...
We also wanted KP instead of Mario, Luka instead of Bamba, and Fox instead of Isaac, but the Magic org decided picking 5 and 6 was better than getting the correct guys.
