I wouldn't put is past Dinwiddie to opt in and play for us next year. The FA money will suck this year due to COVID.
His value will also be lower cause he didn't play. Imagine play a 6th man role next year on a Championship winning team. He will get paid.

that would be great. We would be able to rest Kyrie, Harden, KD a whole bunch of games. We've seen Din carry the team by himself sometimes. Our bench would be one of the best with him there and whoever we sign, we'll get some vets that want to win a chip here.

this is actually really good for the team as long as kd does indeed come back. harden will be getting comfortable at the end of games so there wont be as much pressure on kd. at least not as much as when he ruptured himself in gs. but i see harden doing good all season up to the finals at this rate

Re: Durant out till after the All-Star break and Nets shopping Dinwiddie
Kevin Durant's injured right hamstring has shown "improvement" in its most recent imaging, but is still a few weeks away from returning to game action.
Steve Nash estimated Durant still needs more time to recover and to steadily increase on-court activities.
"We're monitoring it and expect him to make a full recovery," Nash said. "And hopefully it won't be too long. But he's probably got a couple weeks of ramp-up left."
Durant hasn't played since Feb. 13th when he suffered the hamstring injury at the Golden State Warriors.
The strain was initially described as mild, but subsequent scans revealed more bleeding than the team initially could diagnose.
I hope the ideal return date is either April 16 or 18th. It will give him 14 games to get himself ready for the playoffs.

No rush for KD need to keep him right for when the games matter, the team as it is more than fine with holding down the fort and the schedule is super soft until the 10th of April against the Lakers where it gets tougher throughout the rest of April.
Gonna be surreal seeing KD getting added to this squad, things about to get straight unfair. We all been gushing over Harden but don't forget #7 is the best in the game.

He'll be fine, the Nets aren't letting him play until the hamstring is 100%. If all goes well he will have a good 14 games in April to ramp up for the playoffs.

These Spencer for nothing rumors got my stomach sick.
He’s our last starting caliber tradable asset. Why are going for a future vet minimum player instead of someone worthy of his contract? It’s supposed to be a multiyear run and this is completely short sighted. Even if it’s not the perfect fit with multiple years for a starter we could trade in the off-season. I get we like what some of our non stars are doing but it’s a hierarchy game if you are that good you would still play. If someone can come in and take your minutes then you were relying on a lack of talented options around you. I’m so nervous that we will give away a 20/7 player knowing he’s going to get a 80million contract for Avery Bradley.
EDIT: no disrespect to Avery. Fine player. But if the Harden trade didn’t happen and Spencer for a 7th/8th/9th man was purposed the Nets would never. So trading pennies on the dollar doesn’t make sense because we “can”. You wouldn’t do that to Joe. We didn’t for Caris/Allen. Get the value we deserve for Spencer.

I think the player we should shoot for is Aaron Gordon even if it means losing a couple second round picks. Magic has a need for Din and I think they would do it unless someone gives up a younger player and picks. Gordon would be perfect for us.

been saying this for a while. He is the wing defender we need and he can drop some points. He is the only player I would trade Dinwiddie for but I'm not sure if the Magics will trade for him . They kinda sold on Fultz and their new rookie Anthony.

You're not going to get an king's ransom for an expiring contract unless the GM that you're trading with is as dumb as Billy King.

Especially an expiring that is out for the season. If we could get a trade exception for Dinwiddie, we should jump at it. If we're not re-signing him, there's no reason to hold on to him, unless you are hoping for a Hayward like sign and trade.

Kings ransom? Expiring but this is essentially a sign and trade considering his Bird Rights. If Dipo is worth a haul then Spencer is worth a clear starting caliber player. We played 10 players tonight, that’s not a playoff rotation. That’s not understanding who exactly are our best players are. Spencer like Joe would get guaranteed minutes and his traded player should be that as well. Sort out the rest after we can say we have at least five guys who can play 30 minutes respectively. I would add the MLE, 6MOTY Montrezz is the Lakers MLE. In a multiyear run that’s important as some teams will push to challenge us and others give up to strike as we dwindle and trade their best for the “future”.

Spencers a talent, but the champioinship window is small and this is it for the nets. Nothing guarantees a title, but get all men on deck when you have special talent and try to add all the angles you can. Right now the nets have amazing playmakers, shotblocking, rebouding, and shooting are going to be paramount to support the creative power of the Nets talent. You aren't going to get as many chances to be this close to the ring and you gotta do it.
Just like Toronto, once they got Leonard they went and poined up for Gasol even if they had to pay him next year and he was already 34 and declining. He is by no means a guaranteed game changer, but people under value depth. EVen if you get someoen who adds talent for 12 minutes that is valuable that is an entire quarter worth of contributions.
Spence is solid, but if you can get a a guy who can defend the paint and shoot 3s, you do it. If not, i still go hard for Mcgee and the nets should be a huge contender for any buyouts.

IDK why we're not in on Aaron Gordon. But what can the Raps offer for Din? I don't see them giving up OG, Boucher or Powell.

This is what I was thinking as well. Weren't there also rumors that they don't want to move Powell anyway? If he isn't available then I think OG would be the best fit between himself and Boucher. I like Boucher, but he's not great defensively.
