Ugh, not the biggest fan of this. Hopefully Montoyo's bullpen management is better this season.

Why pick that up so soon? He was terrible last year, imo, and this is the first season where the team has spent money and is planning to move out from rebuild mode. I'd rather they had waited until at least mid-season to see how things were going.

Picking up his option won't stop them from firing him if they deem it necessary; he isn't going to be making big money. And teams really don't like having coaches in the final year of their deals, both because it becomes a talking point, and because they have no leverage in extending him if the team does well this year.

Montoyo gives too much playing time to bench players for my liking, and I'm no fan of his bullpen usage.

Fortunately the team is much better/deeper this year, so if he continues with this approach it will at least be more tolerable.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Danny Jansen bunting with 2 strikes.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I like everyone on this year's team, except this guy. He's such an idiot, makes ya opine for the gibby days
