Yeah, he'd be my favourite target too. We should do whatever it takes to get him.

I disagree with many fans here, Mavs need another PG, and turning Powell's bad contract to Bledsoe's bad contract is a good idea.

Powell+JRich+Burke to NOP

DFS+Johnson +Lakers 21 to Magic

Redick +Gordon+Bledsoe to Mavs

Cabt see it. Small upgrade at 4, big diwngrade at 2 and 3. Dont see it. On top of that eating bledsoes bad money and reddick that fallrn off a cliff and is more or less dead money now.

So for short, it makes mavs a worse team. Might be possible to get gordon, but guess it will be more about green and 1st. Not a fan to spend a 1st on gordon but think its better for both

FWIW he's also represented by Klutch Sports.

Washington has another season before Westbeook and Beal can become free agents.

Kristaps Porzingis
Dwight Powell

for

Davis Bertans
Thomas Bryant
Rui Hachimura
Deni Avdija

Thomas Bryant is expiring and is rehabbing from.an ACL tear. Davis Bertans and Deni Avdija greatly improve our three point shooting. Washington aren't utilizing Bertans as expected but signed him to a longterm contract. Rui Hachimura becomes are starting longterm 5.

There is no point in trying to trade KP. Mark just said it there is no chance, so....

Deni Avdija cannot shoot and he probably never will.

I would love to see Hachimura next to Luka.

I live in Maryland, so I know all those Wizards guys very well. Wouldn't touch any of them, let alone for kp. Rui and Bertsns suck

So that means it is likely they are shopping him.

What about this Dallas/Boston/Orlando 3-way?

Boston trades: Thompson/Smart/Nesmith/Pick
Receives: KP

Dallas trades: KP/JRich/Terry
Receives: Gordon/Thompson/Smart

Orlando trades: Gordon
Receives: JRich/Nesmith/Terry/Boston Pick

We improve defense and rebounding, Boston gets a legit #3 option, Orlando gets a solid vet and youth and a pick.
Orlando can probably get better offer though.

Looking at two of the best offseason moves in the NBA, Christian Wood and Jerami Grant, shows us the importance of trying to buy low. Or at least the Mavs shouldn't just focus on pursuing the "hot" names. So while I think Gordon would be a great fit, it just seems unlikely. Lonzo Ball could also fall in that category now.

But what about Otto Porter Junior? The buzz around him is a potential buyout. So its likely he could be had for a pretty limited deal. He would be an upgrade to DFS, with better shooting and rebounding. And he would make a much better small ball PF than DFS.

Oladipo also could be moving to the value category with his recent poor play and likely salary demands. It would probably take a big contract this summer to keep him away from Miami, so there is real risk of overpaying or losing him.

Mavs still linked to Collins and sadly Drummond

Still would like to hear from more Mavs guys like Stein.

Thank God. Hopefully we won’t have to watch Enes Kanter or Tristan Thompson kill this team much longer

Absolutely. KP supposedly prefers playing at C, but he doesn’t play like a C at all so he needs to be put back at PF so Drummond (or whoever else) can actually fight in the post like a center should

KP at the 4 will be a defensive nightmare, that's his main problem defensively after the injuries, too weak for many 5s, too slow for 4, that's why when his shot isn't falling, he has these big negative +/-.

Can't see how its better to have him at the 4 then the 5.

No way KP can handle someone like Porter jr for example.

Also Drummond gets abused by alot of centers.

Much rather upgrade the 4 spot

Well even if the Mavs make a Drummond trade, I would hope they have at least one other move left.

Drummond would be perfect because he can actually pull down rebounds, which is the main reason we are losing these games. If Rick Carlisle is the supposed great coach that everyone on this forum seems to think he is, he should have no problem figuring out how to play them together. I don’t know how anyone can say Drummond wouldn’t be a massive upgrade over Powell + Johnson and a 2nd though (likely the proposed offer).

Supposedly, the Rockets and Magic are searching for a 3rd team to take Oladipo too. That should be the other player they go after

A big issue with Drummond is what the Mavs trade for him. If it means sending out Johnson and Powell, then I am all for it.

Not sure Mavs could get any of these but guys like Gordon, Nance, and even Turner would all be better suited for the Mavs

Drummond himself isn't a good defender and offensively he may be a negative.

This just solves 1 problem and creates 2.

Good convo from all on this.
