My late draft hopeful (if we grab a late first rounder for Wright for instance) would be to try and nab Garza, I like his game and he looks like he could be a decent distributor in the pick and pop / highpost offense, decent outside shooting to spread the floor and is surprisingly mobile for his size.

We may have that guy already in Stewart, though. He has a lot to learn about defense, certainly, but the talent is undeniable. He's been a pleasant surprise, especially with his range. Props to Weaver for that one.

Also, Buckeyes. Lolz. And Purdue.

At least Wisky and Rutgers redeemed the conference a bit.

Was disappointed in Cade. The game was very tight and he didn't do much other than a step back 3. I admit I wasnt completely absorbed into the game but I was watching and I didn't see him play especially good defense or even really run the offense.

Doesnt he normally run the offense?

It was a tight game until mid way through the 2nd quarter and they didnt run anything through Cade to try and create points. It was just a grind out with some jumpers that fell for OSU.

Gun to my head I would guess that zero guys on either team would be drafted, so its odd that Cade is projected as a LOCK for #1.

Maybe it was his worst game of the year?

He sat out a good amount as he got into early foul trouble.

The offense ran thru him late, when the game was on the line.

It's funny because I was going to post something to this effect before today's game but got sidetracked. I've only seen a handful of his games but have been fairly underwhelmed for the hype. Pretty reckless with the ball; nothing stood out from an athleticism standpoint. Took a bunch of shots and only made a handful; fairly absent on defense. His name sounds nice when rolling off the tongue: Cade Cunningham. Same with Mac Mcclung who seems to get hype from media. I keep watching; waiting to be wowed. I'm still waiting.

He plays with a bunch of bad players. He's going to look better in the NBA. His best ability is his passing and the guys he passes to cant make shots.

So I'm watching again today against Oregon St. They show a double team whenever he catches the ball. Fine. The interesting thing I'm noticing is that his teammates make almost no effort to get him the ball. Once he passes it away it's almost arbitrary who ends up with the shot at the end; which is strange for a premiere player. Normally the ball finds them or they seek it out.

I can't tell if this behavior is due to Cunningham being young, to his teammates not looking to him, hos coach not running screens for him or what. Looks like this will be his last college game btw. As the #4 seed they are getting blasted by #12 Oregon St; down by 18 near the end of the 1st half.

I'm hoping to see a better turn out in the second half. It does make you wonder about him if he cant take over vs a team like this in the tourney if hes a slam dunk kinda 1 pick. His supporting cast is bad but hes playing a cupcake here. Imagine Luka, LBJ, Wade, Durant, or Melo in college vs this kind of team they would dominate.

Meh, Durant got rocked out of his lone NCAA tournament, and he had more talent around him than Cunningham does. Durant had three NBA teammates, Cunningham might be lucky to have one.

When Cunningham plays with players that can space the floor, he’s going to be a stud.

Yeah he lost putting up huge numbers. Upsets happen in the tourney but a slam dunk top pick performs vs bad teams in the biggest games.

27-8 game 1
30-9 game 2

Those are Durants numbers.

Cade seems to be putting it together in the 2nd half anyways. If he went out of the tourney with what he was doing in the first half in the 2nd following his first round performance I'd question if hes the guy we need.

These OKSU teammates of Cade’s have zero control over their bodies - they just run around until they crash into someone.

Meanwhile, Oregon State runs an offense where their players get wide open in the post, yet they never get the ball. Perhaps because they stink in the post. If that’s the case, change the offense.

All in all, a lousy game.

Yeah his teammates suck. I can accept Cade losing to this team if they do lose. I just wanted to see him make some plays and get aggressive being by far the talented player on the floor. Hes looked like a worthy 1 pick to me in the 2nd half for sure. Not that its my first time watching him but I do value guys performing in the biggest games at this level.

He looked better in the 2nd half. Nothing jaw dropping but he made some nice shots. Thompson was the best player on the court. Arguably Anderson was the best looking player for Oklahoma St. Cunningham made some shots but looked awkward at times as well. You guys are right that their whole team seems to have issues with playing under control. It caught up to them and ended their season.

Im sorry but Cade gives me Evan Turner vibes. Im just not sold on him. If the pistons dont get the #1 pick I wouldn't be mad.I never thought Cade would be a star honestly but I hope im wrong.
