Got some good info on how the Wojo thing went down. The AD had multiple meetings with Wojo last week and from what I heard he could have stayed but they wanted him to put vet coach on his staff, you know, someone who can actually coach. Wojo refused to do it whether it be stubbornness or his own hubris. Howard hired Phil Martelli and was named coach of the year, but Wojo isn’t smart enough to realize that.

Wojo didn't want to spend next year looking over his shoulder.

When you’re good at your job you shouldn’t have to worry about that.

If you're good at your job you shouldn't be insecure about it either.

Wow, can't believe they're getting this hire. figured after this good year he'd stabilized at TX but maybe he sees the writing on the wall that eventually they'll push him out so might as well line something up more long term. Have to think this was their best case scenario and they got it.

Good recruiter, barely .500 record, no tourney wins (at Texas)?

Match made in heaven.

Texas clearly gave Shaka the impression that it was in his best interest to look elsewhere. They're apparently looking at Chris Beard to replace him.

It's a name hire for MU. He'll recruit well. It'll remain to be seen if he can actually turn them into a good team again.

Not a good hire. Seems like more of the same, especially with a guy like Moser available

Was one of the hottest names in college coaching before going to Texas. Still young, and from Madison too.
Hope he can turn it around.
