Don't get too wet, Houston has bunch of first round picks that don't belong to them. Suns , Blazers and Bucks picks for 2021 and 2022. Non of those pick will land within top 20.
Esencially Magic are in advanced talks to take 2 late first round picks for Gordon.
As exiting as watching hair grow.
Houston aslo has $10M worth of trade exceptions, witch brings "value" of return even less.

It would likely be a 3 team trade with the 1sts coming from somewhere else. I do agree that they’ll be heavily protected or late 1sts.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Even Kobe was said to f*** off when it comes to roster decisions.
People need to get a grip.
Kawhi Leonard says hi.
Kawhi got traded from Spurs, left Raptors, had under a table agreement with George and probably West. Still had no imput on roster construcion.
Implications here about Vuc involvment in roster menagment are ridicilous. Vuc didn't even got no trade clausule.
But when i see who posts those nonsense i refuse to even reply directly. Reminds me why he is on my ignore list for years
Lebron is only person in nba who has power to change roster. Did it when he arived with Cavs with Waiters and Wiggins.
Kawhi told LA to get PG. so yeah, he has roster management power. He also got Rivers fired. chooses when he will play and when he wont. so yeah, he has similar power

i think most people saw Houston 1st and have vet dream Magic are getting Cade or Suggs for Gordon
but in reality, Houston has combination of like 6-7 different first round picks and swaps for 2021 & 2022 and all of them are from contenders. Just nowhere near as exiting as it sounds.

Interesting stuff here and would likely need a 3rd team to take Oladipo and send an asset back to us. Also don’t know when those 1st from Houston would be? Can’t be until 2023 if I’m correct from all the deals they did
At this point AG will be traded by deadline. He’s been rumored to just about every team needing a PF.
The other interesting things I read on The Athletic this morning:
1. Gordon's representatives asked Weltman to be moved in February.
2. Orlando came close to completing deals with Gordon in the past, with a trade at last season’s deadline sending him to Phoenix for Kelly Oubre and a draft pick falling just short and a pre-draft trade sending Gordon to Portland for the multi-pick package that landed the Blazers Robert Covington reaching the finish line before Orlando backed out, per league sources.
Theoretically that pick from the Suns would have been #10, where Haliburton and Vassell would have been available.
Both of those seem like excellent returns, and make you wonder why we would pass on either.

Casual people seeing that probably thought that way but the majority of this forum for the most part are savvy enough that isn't the case.
Been researching a bit and applying my own hunch since I've had to listen to the last two games on the opposing team's radio broadcast via Sirius XM. They have been watching AG's body language and continuously mention that he wants out of here. I have zero confidence in this FO that we will even get fair value for him to begin with. The offers will only get worse IMO if he isn't sent out of here by the trade deadline.

Feels like Dipo could end up in Toronto, AG in Houston, Lowry in Miami. We'd get expiring contracts from Miami and 2 1st round picks from the teams involved. That would allow us to keep Fournier unfortunately.

Sure people want the highest draft pick possible, but looking at last year's draft and considering picks like Haliburton at #12, Bey at #19, and Quickley at #25 would be a better fit for the Magic from a roster construction and depth perspective. I can get moderately excited about two prospects like that coming in.

Not only that. He's double-injured:hamstring tightness

I mean WTH?!?!?!? How in the world can you sprain your big toe?
I can't imagine what you have to do with your big toe in order to sprain it. Maybe if you're an extremely creative porn actor and you are asked to give everything you got in a foot or toe fetish scene, maybe you'd be able to outdo yourself and SPRAIN your friggin right big toe...somehow...
Come oooon, man! This is ridiculous!
As someone who has torn the tendons in their big toe (playing basketball), let me tell you, it IS possible and is extremely painful
And for me (I'm the furthest thing from a pro athlete), it never really recovered. I'm usually fine, but it will randomly just stay hurting pretty bad and can barely walk, and I injured it about 5 years ago.
Now my situation is clearly much different than mo's but just saying, it is possible to do

The Portland deal as well made a ton of sense and would’ve been mid 1st and this years 1st + Ariza who was expiring lol.
Fully expect this FO to somehow **** it up

Another problem is that Weham have one more year on their contracts, and they don't seem interested in future picks. Picks in 2023 won't save them next year.jonbob17 wrote:Knightro wrote:

It does feel like a desperation deal could be made. Like pushing all the chips in on a Lowry or Walker. Even then i don't think it would be like a save my job move. I just don't think their seats are hot. It feels like they (and Martins) are plenty happy with the trajectory. And any move for veterans would be viewed as part of the plan.
The whole thing is extremely frustrating. I just want hope for this franchise, hope of playing meaningful games past the first round. 6,7,8 seed (ceiling) is more depressing than the 14th seed to me.

fire sale after Evan probably told them he is gone and Gordon requisted trade - LAST MONTH.
Vuc is like " well i'm not sticking around to watch Fultz jumpshot, take me out too"
what a dumpsterfire. After 9 years of rebuilding, Magic are rebuilding 3rd time in a decade
Jesus Christ. Just put whole team on E bay

I can see the doofuses in charge getting Oladipo for Gordon and giving him a crazy long term deal.

So, Weiss who is a beat rider with the Celts, started this, then runs off a bunch of "Celts package for Gordon" thought lines.
Look: I am sure Gordon has discussed what a trade could look like for himself and the Magic, but that would have been through his agent in a very professional way. Smart players do not go in to Management's offices and state, even politely, "Trade me please." More harm than good comes to a player if that occurs. For example, instead of trading Gordon out West, where he presumably ants to be, he could end up in Boston (what Weiss wants).
Does Gordon want to be traded to a clearly mediocre team, in a cold and snowy city, that will not make it beyond the 2nd round of the playoffs over his contract; no.

Gordon requested trade, ship to cash him high is gone.
Evan is UFA, they can be lucky if they can get anything but salary filler like Ariza and second round or very late first round pick.
Also being in situation where this 2 turds will be in charge for another rebuild just makes me vomit. They are reason why we need re-rebuild with their incompetence to draft or trade.

Most hilarious thing about this leak is fact that Gordon asked for a trade month ago, Evan said he is not comming back months ago,yet Alex Martins was out there spinning facts, talking how Magic can be new Miami Heat - last week.
