Re: Aaron Gordon requests trade
Kept him for too long and here is the result. Should've dealt him the second Isaac was drafted. We probably aren't even in this mess if we would've just kept Tobias over him to start.

Re: Aaron Gordon requests trade
Pretty much everyone, from Shams to Lowe to Hollinger, seems to think an Aaron Gordon trade is inevitable.
We'll see how it goes.

Lmao people saw this coming from a mile away. Maybe not this season but eventually. He didn't want to play for orlando. It was clear as day. Wouldn't blame him.

I dont blame him. Its time for both parties involved. We need scoring wing in the mold of Barton, or cap space to resign Fournier. Otherwise we will be screwed next year. Pick will be most likely outside top 4 so we cant put all our faith into draft.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

It's hilarious people thought he would want to re-sign. Dude told a reporter he had no choice immediately after he signed his current contract. He's been dreaming about his exit for years. Pretty much everything about him was a red flag that he needed to be traded.

Re: Aaron Gordon requests trade
This isn't surprising. There have been reports in the last 2-3 years he wanted to be traded. Now this just signifies completely he'll be gone by the deadline.
I think he was trying to do good by the team by not saying anything and hoping he'd be gone. But I think he's had enough of the Magic's "Long Game" of upping his value and him just waiting around for something to happen. Its going to be interesting for the Magic if this lowers the asking price/forces them to a worse deal or if this has teams flocking/tripping over to get him since they know he wants out.
We'll see what type of deal the Magic get for him within the next few days.

Now blow it up!! Trade Gordon, Birch, Fournier for young assets, get Vuc some rest, build around ´21 Lottery Pick, Trade Return, Isaac, Fultz and Vuc next year.

We will see if thats true. I like current projected deals more than last years Oubre or Portland deal. We are kind of lucky with AG hot shooting streak this year and him showcasing his passing as point forward.

Gotta force these guys to actually pick up the phone and do something. I wonder if Fournier is next to request a trade.

Seems pointless since all signs are he's getting treated anyway. Let's get it done already, it would be best for all parties.

Re: Aaron Gordon requests trade
My ultimate fear is that the Magic unload Gordon for expiring contracts and picks (which in and of itself would be fine) and then use the cap savings to resign Fournier.

I don't blame Gordon at all. Surprised he played with these guys as long as he has. Feel like he's the most likely player we have to thrive on a winning team.

Should have happened years ago. This team is a waste of time.

I am aware that not many agree with me but that seems like the best case scenario. Its not even about what we want to do, but whats Fournier wants.
Regarding pure asset management, resigning Evan is a no brainer. He will be much more valueable on his new deal which will lock him for his prime. We can still trade him later and get more than right now.

Non-homers saw this from a mile away. Now fire the FO, get rid of Martins, bring in a competent staff and trade everyone.

Re: Aaron Gordon requests trade
Trade request withstanding, tons of teams interested (for good reason), making it a little bit of a moot point.
One justifiable reason for holding our vets was the time horizon of FA pools and cap spaces. This summer doesn’t have exciting FA’s or cap spaces. This raises the price to somewhere the Magic would want.
And so enter the Magic flashing the best cards. The only thing the rumors of the last couple weeks have surprised me in has been in T Ross’ fetching price. That’s a ridiculously low price for the league’s leading 4 PT-getter. I would not mind to bridge the gap to a much younger Magic team with T Ross and Vooch leading the way!
