Keep it in your pants.

Look... I live in the hotspot of the pandemic in Canada. We're catching this **** virus left and right. A lot of people have died, to the point that everybody here knows somebody who was lost to the pandemic. Let's not even bring up those who have been without a job for months, some becoming homeless. I read terrible news every day. Then I come here and I stumble upon your post sharing some brainless idiot's attempt at fun... and it kinda, sorta feels like I'm being trolled.

So no, I'm not going to keep it in my pants. If anything, this is a good time to start slapping idiocy with it, whether you like it or not. People like your RazorFist friend are the reason this virus will stick around longer, thanks to which we'll have to deal with its mutations, which means more death and more suffering. How ****ing fun is that?

Don't agree with this take at all. I can't speak on the canadian government but the US government straight up lied to the people multiple times. 14 days to flatten the curve was always BS and people called it out as BS at the time. Honesty is always the best policy. Let's not forget Fauci telling everyone not to wear masks because they don't work. Another blatant lie. The people in power won't be held responsible but we can at least shine a light at all the bull being spoken.

Let's not forget everyone losing their **** over Florida's policies despite the fact that their numbers are FAR, FAR BETTER compared to states like MA. But FL's policies don't align with CNN and MSNBC so we must crucify them. What a **** joke.

Pretty encouraging chart. Seems we should easily be able to sustain 2 million shots a day in March and hopefully we can get to over 3 million a day in April. Also nice to see that we aren't slowing down on the weekends. If anything we seems to get more shots into arms on the weekend!

127 million shots given so far. We're getting there. Let's hope the shots administered curve is more exponential than linear.

Great. There should be little to no problems with that.
Getting my 2nd shot tomorrow. Moderna, as well.

Look at these links. SMMFH!

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/covid-19-cases-are-rising-states-are-opening-anyway-n1261912

https://www.nbcboston.com/news/coronavirus/cdc-director-gives-emotional-plea-please-hold-on-a-little-while-longer/2341398/

CDC Director/Rochelle Wolinsky & Tony Fauci are literally PLEADING with moron governors & the average American dimwit to no avail.
Many Americans are truly mother **** morons.

Recipe for an impending massive new & deadly explosion:

1) Cases are going up - up to 60K/day.
2) Europe is locking down again NOW & we have precisely followed Europe a few weeks later with regard to the earlier surges.
3) Highly transmissible UK variant is peaking & about to take over in USA.
4) Bad variants from Brazil & South Africa potentially resistant to the vaccines we have received are creeping in.
5) And **** morons are gathering & governor after governor are opening up all places of business & society while all this is happening.
6) Only 15% of Americans are double VAXED.
7) Half of the remaining 85% are going to refuse the vaccines - morons.
8) Only ‘good news’ is that deaths may not rise as high as w other surges because a significant percentage of 65+ year olds have been vaccinated.

Vaccinate & mitigate & maybe just maybe we can have our country & lifestyles back by the late summer/fall.

I am an endocrinologist - but I unfortunately have been reading all of the important **** COVID publications as they come off the press just about every mother **** day. I know from whence I speak.

PS Any VAX or mitigation deniers - stay the **** away from me! I will not respond.

I read that the percentage of people who are dead set against being vaccinated is around 20% (both in the U.S. and Canada). There is, however, a sizable percentage of the population that was undecided a few months ago but is leaning towards getting the shot these days.

Thought I heard or read 40%.
Hope you are correct rather than me.

I was looking for you this AM to translate Fournier’s interview in the Fournier thread - but Steef jumped on it right after I posted it. Good stuff.

Got first Moderna shot Saturday. Very well run operation. I was pretty groggy afterwards, which I guess is more common with Moderna than the other vaccinations. I think people are still hung up on the morality of not "cutting in line", but you can put that to bed, IMO. That was a January-February thing. We are very quickly moving from the morality of "I will wait my turn" to the morality of "Just go, ASAP". Supply will exceed demand in a matter of weeks. We have already given at least one shot to a vast majority of our at-risk population, and anyone with one shot of Pfizer/Moderna is already prioritized above you. Many of the unvaccinated at-risk people don't even want one.

My county in rural CA went from 60yo+ or certain occupations/health conditions to anyone 50yo+ to anyone 45yo+ to anyone 35yo+ within about 6 days last week. Unlimited supply is probably going to be the case just about everywhere within 7-10 days. By the time you get an appointment, it will be your turn. CVS.com, Walgreens.com, or your local health department/hospital.com. Just go. The biggest thing in April and May is just getting as many shots in as many arms as possible. It's a cattle call at this point. No one is going to check on your stated occupation or health condition, even if you are blurring the lines. Park there, ID and temp check here. Are you allergic to any meds or on blood thinners? No? Stab! sit over there for 15 minutes and then get your ass out of here.

FWIW, really doesn't matter which of Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J you get. All are very safe have nearly universal protection against deadly or severe COVID. Each may have different advantages in the long run.

All of this.

AND continue to aggressively mask & distance until 1) the imminent surge #4 plays out; 2) we see if any of the potentially vaccine resistant variants gain traction; & 3) we get to ~80% VAX/herd immunity - MEANING at least until the summer.

Got my second Moderna shot last week at Gilette. Got sick for a day afterwards but was fine after that. My dad got me in with him when he scheduled his and I wasn't going to complain about it. MA has their priorities straight on this. RI has done such a **** job at this I would've been waiting til July to get it here. I'm booking full time for gigs after the last 6 months on the shelf and this is piece of mind as much as its for my health.
