Maybe it's not terrible salary vise, later picks are cheap, but at some point players and positions will just start to overlap and at some point you have to build a team, since picks don't play basketball.

OKC had 3 future HOFs in their prime, and 3 league's MVP on a team and made it to nba finals once. They are cow that gives you most milk, but kicks whole bottle later.

All those picks may not be super valuable individually. Though the Houston one this year, while top 4 protected but it could very well be number 5 (or 6-8), currently 5 is the most likely of individual outcomes. 5 would be extremely valuable.

What OKC will be able to do is find young guys including rotations players in the draft, and then use the rest of the picks to package for proven young up and coming stars. Potentially move around drafts to get their guy is there is opportunity as well with consolidation trades.

They probably won't make half of these picks.

OKC is a small market team, much like Orlando, and you get 8 years of team control from draft picks. If you can convince them to sign after that then great, but if you don't think you can you have to move the value forward

Yup, thats why im still not optomistic even if we do trade AG and Evan

All their FA signings are trash dating back to their old jobs (greg monroe and Aminu come to mind), most their draft picks dont pan out, again here and going back to their old jobs (they hit on siakem and Giannis, both missed on most their others). The only good trade they mave made is Fultz and even that is still up for debate, and they refuse to take chances on young players in the 2nd round (would much rather sell those picks for money every year). and both guys seem very content with just making the playoffs

Notice how much better MIL and TOR got AFTER these guys left

Hopefully going into the offseason, Weham, clifford and martin all get replaced.........Of course that will never happen, but i can dream

I like the idea of Rubio next year, and Fultz is going to miss time, but Rubio would absolutely help win games this year, and hurt our draft position. Just think how much better Rubio is than Randle. Can't take that risk.

The hype level of this trade is going to leave many of us burned. So many quality teams want AG but it's never that easy. Probably won't even trade him and Martins gonna come out and tell us if healthy we can win and convince AG he wants to be in Orlando. SMH.

This is so terrible that it sounds plausible with this front office

No thanks. Wiggins is over paid. Oubre would only be here a half season. We really don't need another power forward.

Or maybe just an Oubre + Wanamaker for Gordon, straight-up?

You'd have to include a pick. Oubre would only be here a half season.

Let me stop you right there...

Oubre has no value to me. He is just an expiring contract. That's fine. Wiggins has significantly negative value. We don't want that contract. Minnesota gave you a very nice pick to take that contract off of their hands. We aren't taking it without similar compensation. Paschall has very little value (if any). Even in a straight salary dump, this offer would be very unappealing. So when you make another offer, you have to consider the cost of us taking Wiggins back, the cost of Gordon, and the cost of Fournier. There is no value attached to this offer at all. It's just really ugly. On top of all of this, there is no reason for us to attach Bamba. He isn't a problem.

Issue is that most teams simply are turned off by Gordon's behavior.
Common sense is that guy will find his path "home" witch means he will go to LAL;LAC or GSW ( at apsolute worst - Kings) somehow - very soon.

From what i know, he doesn't even live in Orlando for most part. His camp leaked this info just to stop Houston trade.
Good luck finding contender on a big market that he likes, pretty much it's Nets, Knicks or... LAL & LAC (who seems to have no interest in him) and Warriors who have some piss poor assets like Draymoond Green for Gordon?

For the record, AG does have a home here and that's where he's been spending the majority of his time. He has a court and a lake.

Martins' job is to ensure the the Magic is profitable. He has done very well at that job.

Yeah I like Martins in that role. He’s done some good things in that regards. Just keep him away from basketball ops and we’re good.
