Apparently hes the reason the warriors arent a top seed and contending for the chip.

I assume thats for Gordon. I think that is something I would do.
Hes a PF that is much more of a glue guy like an Iggy or Livingston. He can play PF when Dray plays C. He can also help facilitate and be the PF on the second unit. If Oubre goes the other way, they might ask him to start in certain match ups. Wiggs covers everything 1-3 anyways.
If its wiggins going the other way, I think it hurts. Oubre has been a much worse defender this year both in help and man to man containment than Wiggs has been. Then we are also tied to re-sign oubre at 20+ per year or let him walk thus not being able to replace a player in that salary slot. I think Id rather have wiggs at 30 mill for 2 more years than Oubre at 20-25 mill for 4 more years.

Wiggins is way down on the list of what's preventing the Warriors from being a top-tier team.
Hmm, thought the idea is dump him for any average to decent starter? You do know he is viewed as a negative value around the league, right? So, realistically, he’ll be with this team until either he has 2 years left in his contract or until he comes an expiring at 27-28 years old.
You realize in about 3 months he’ll have 2 yrs left on his contract, right?

The East has seven teams currently ranked #4 through #10 that are only separated by 2 1/2 games in the standings. With reasonable protections put in place, I can absolutely see one of them willing to part with a low first round pick in order to separate themselves from the pack.
Doesnt really address the issue though. Playoff teams pay for top of the line role players... what's Oubre? What does he do that you can count on?

Twinkie defense wrote:I don't like Wanamaker, but what's the burning reason to get rid of him? There's no reason to dump him unless you need a roster spot (and even then, Smailagić is a more likely candidate to be dumped) or to save on Lacob's luxury tax bill.

There are a lot of good wings who need to be defended in the playoffs. Just as a 3 and D guy Oubre is an asset - that's why the Warriors are getting calls about him.
