Derrick White looks like broccoli from the neck up

I look forward to us getting swept in the first round of the playoffs. We couldn't use a good draft pick afterall.

Lmao, love it. How is he going onto the court looking this way. He’s got to do something about that. Change the hair, wear goggles, switch to the broken nose Hannibal face mask, anything.

If I was miles I would be trying to drive and dunk it at least 3 times every game.

Yeahhhhhhhhh. Lol.

If we make it, it'll build some positive momentum within the organization though. We'll have an established identity and a clear set of goals moving forward. Before Melo and Gordon arrived, you couldn't really claim any of that.

just not a big fan of young organization setting themselves up with false self-imagery

we're not denver from a few years ago. or phoenix this year. denver had their core guys developing for the best of their conference. phoenix didn't even need the growing phase lumps that everyone associates with necessary development.

getting to the playoffs to find out we can't play defense or rebound and our offense is a high trap away from screeching to standstill isn't gonna be some revelation. realistically, our 'core' is two guys - and they don't even play well together or will be playing together in the playing together at all in the post-season. there's no gain.

hard to be excited, just my feelings. not trying to rain on anyone else's excitement tho

The problem here is that some still did not picture that about 60% of the teams are tanking (more or less depending on the situation/assets/conference).
If most Hornets wins were against top teams, sure, lets fix issues here and there. But unless i have missed something, it is quite far from that.

Play off wont change anything for this core of players, it could be even worst if some of them shine as many are eligible for a new contract (especially couple guards that will have extended minutes with Lamelo's injury). And you risk to lose assets for nothing since you dont have unlimited cap/ressources.

No matter what they do at the frontoffice, this team is nowhere close to teams like Washington, Minnesota, Cleveland... But being patient and work well to land game changing prospects locked on rookie contracts is beyond critical at this point. Unless you can move some of the 'older' assets to get high picks for 2021/22 (or even 23).
It's not like like there is no tomorrow after 2021

Without extrapolating any longer term conclusions out of the game I just thought it was interesting to see Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier successfully go toe to toe against a team like San Antone throwing haymakers via professional scorers DeRozen and Gay. Nice to have a couple of guys with enough brass to pull that off.
