Wood is legit an all star level player but injury probably took him out of the equation

I wouldn't go that far with Wood... All he's proven so far is that he can accumulate stats on awful teams.

I can’t swear to it, but I suspect we have Brett to thank for letting both of these guys go.

Wood hasn't even played half of his team's games, so he's out of the running. I'd replace him with Chris Boucher, a candidate for both MIP and 6MOTY.

Powell belongs in the MIP conversation.
Boucher belongs in the MIP and 6MOTY conversation.

I dont think Boucher belong in any conversation about MIP and 6MOTY, it is a stats competition mainly, and outside his incredible block numbers, his stats arent all that spectacular.

And about Powell at least stat wise for me he is already first, he has a nice stat line that is already better than Jordan Clarkson, dont know if the record has a lot of weight, but for me Powell is my pick at the moment

Julius Randle should definitely be in the MIP discussion.

If his play continues, you all think KPJ has a shot for MIP?

both in the same team makes no sense. Easily Thad when he was the worst contract to untouchable this yr.
He looks like a complete different player, with career highs on fg% and assists.
6MOY but is the 2nd best player in a playin/playoff team.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Its a disgrace if its stats only. Guys like lou, clarkson should never win as they are mostly bumslaying 3rd stringers to pad stats.
I dont like Powell as MIP because he was already impressive last yr and its a shame he cannot get 6moy bc he is no longer a bench guy.

What stats are you looking at for Boucher? If we’re talking about the 6 man award, he arguably has the best stats of any candidate.

Boucher is averaging 14/6 and has a 66.0 TS%. He’s top 5 in the entire league in PER. His advanced stats, RPM, VORP, WS36, ORTG, DRTG, BPM are all through the roof. Then there’s the 2 bpg on top of all that. He’s the only player in the league averaging >1.5 blocks and >1.5 3’s per game.

I’m not saying he should win, I would personally vote for Clarkson, but saying his stats aren’t impressive is off the mark. His overall stats and his per minute stats are both ridiculous.

I think CB is one of the most underrated players in the league and he’s only gonna get better. That said, I think the fact Toronto isn’t very good this year + Boucher only playing about 23 minutes a game which is the least of any 6th man of the year since ‘02 disqualifies him from this this year, especially when you have a guy like Clarkson to compete against.

I think a full season of ~25-27 minute Chris Boucher wins the award, and could next year, but I also hope that Toronto puts him in the starting lineup, because he’s really, really good.

Players from losing teams rarely, if ever, win this award. Plus Lou Williams stole at least one from Iguodala because voters seem to focus on scoring over all-around play far too much.

However, that said, I have zero problem with Clarkson winning. He’s having a great season for the top team. It’s going to likely be a landslide.

Thad started. Played more minutes than Clarkson and had less points.

Nice player on an awful team. Not in the conversation TBH

Why isn’t Boucher getting more minutes? Foul trouble?

I’m going to put Joe Ingles name forward as sixth man candidate. He’s started 10 games out of 38 so I’m not sure what the rule is there.

But right now he is on track to become only the second player ever to shoot a legitimate 50%/50%/90% season to equal the great Steve Kerr.

Right now he is at 55%/50%/89% and a EFG% of 72%.

Very solid defender and is on a great team.

Would love to see Ingles win Sixth man and Ben Simmons win Defensive player of the year for Australian basketball.
