Re: Bey for Bagley
I'm not surprised that the Pistons turned this offer down. Bagley might only be a year older than Bey, but Bey is a far better fit for both the Pistons and the modern NBA at large.
What I am kind of shocked was the reaction from NBA fans at large being on board with the Pistons nixing that offer. I guess getting that player of the week award got Bey some national awareness to just how good he's been.

Okafor/Smith for Bagley/James would be my only offer.
I’m guessing a 2nd would have to be involved, but I’m honestly not sure or even which way.
Kings make it easier on themselves to resign Holmes by not having Bagleys $11 million on their cap. James would have to get cut if he wasn’t included, so we’re basically taking a trial on him instead.
Pistons take an expensive money wise, but not trade asset wise, chance on Bagley.

Bagley to Detroit just isn't happening and certainly not for Okafor and Smith. I mean Kings made the call to see if they could pry Bey away - not because they're desperate to trade Bagley for our third string players.

Which is fine. With his number ballooning up to $11 million and their desire to resign Holmes. I think they’ll be lucky to get expirings and a 2nd or two.
I mean honestly what team is going after him for the cost next season?

The Kings tried to swap Bagley for Collins too. Ridiculous.

Beggars cant be choosers.
If they want cap space for something and dont plan on giving him a contract extension next year, its their problem to deal with.
Whats the going rate for non-physical centers that arent good at defense and mostly just get your 10 and 8 every night while giving up 20?
Basically Okafor? Hes on the vet minimum.
There is the chance he gets a better 3 pointer and then he might be worth something.
Anyways, its an interesting situation. If Detroit had any 2nd rounders *cough* then we might get him for expirings.

I gotta say, these rumors don't make much sense. Gordon, Oladipo, Bagley, Allen, even Collins even though he's the best of the bunch. The Pistons need scorers, shooters.
Then again, Weaver just seems like the type of GM that has his hands in everything so this could just be due diligence.
They talk about Detroit trying to get 28 year old Norman Powell who just went off on Detroit. Has a 10mil or so player option for next year.
He would make us better. They mentioned Sekou and 2nd for powell.
Everyone has heard about Spencer Dinwiddle. Of course he is injured. But we could trade for the better talent while also helping the tank of this year. Powells trade would make us better but hurt our tank.
...
This year has been crazy from trading away the entire team. Short season. Lottery change.
So trade deadline, then season over already, another draft. And then we see what this team will likely look like for a while.

Think most articles linking us to players are assuming Weaver is the aggressive type and looking to make a move to "win".
Nothing he's done so far suggests winning now is on the agenda! Every move has been to get younger, more athletic, more versatile.
IMO he's not suddenly going to change course.

Sacramento wouldn't do it even if you add a 1st.

Re: Bey for Bagley
Can Bagley be another Christian Wood in a couple years? He currently makes $11M which is more than the current value he provides on the court so we shouldn't have to pay much. Vet + out of favor Prospect (Sekou?) or 2nd rounder type package, I'd be fine with it due to the upside.
