Tobi is a good player in general.

Tobi is a bad player against good teams and on high intensity moments. While Tobi is a very good player against most bad teams and on non clutch or low intensity or garbage possessions.

But he works hard every possession and has a good work ethic. So he can still be better.

That’s how I see him.

You have been much more accurate than me with your Tobi projections. However, I always thought the one saving grace with Tobias was his ridiculous rate of improvement. Early career many weren’t even sure if he would be a starter, and now he is approaching all-star status. The guy clearly has always worked on his game and has never been satisfied. I thought he was more athletically limited than he’s shown.

Thanks, sometimes im wrong and sometimes im right.

In my opinion, Tobi wasn’t used properly by Brett. Partly because of the spacing with Ben and Jimmy then the spacing with Al and Biid.

And most importantly, he failed to put Tobi on low intensity non physical defensive environments that Tobi thrives.

Tobi also has to have a high volume of PnRs. He is not an elite shooter in terms of volume. So he won’t get you a handful of 3s. So this lead to a lot of empty 1v1 situations for him as a spot up shooter trying to attack a close out.

PnRs allows him to get the mid range looks he’s comfortable with taking. Where the defense is low intensity and non physical.

Most importantly is the increase in transition. In general, transition offense is against low intensity defense. The kind of environment Tobi’s offense thrives. Some analytics may call it garbage possessions, but you can’t completely discount it’s importance.

In terms of player development, he is the opposite of guys like Ben or Wiggins.

Tobi isn’t born with the physical tools of the top 1% of athletes. Hell, i’d even say he’s undersized for a modern star wing. Specially for a tweener. He also wasn’t highly regarded so he has to keep working on his game. And this made him a skilled player for his size.

He knows his flaws so he knows where he is. He knows what he wants, so he knows where he wants to be. He is not delusional. This allows him to keep incremental growth.

The next step for him is to be a better shotcreator and to further improve his perimeter shooting.

I dont expect him to be a special player. You can even say that he possibly is at his peak or very near his peak. But he is a better player than most people think of him.

The two free throws he missed on Sunday (he was 9-for-11) are what’s keeping him from a 50/40/90 season right now.

The 2 free throws at the end of regulation against the Knicks.
A sort of epitome of Tobias' career :D

I knew he was going to be better with Doc and our new system, but he has exceeded expectations so far. The playmaking in particular is a very welcomed addition to his game.

I also give 76ciology credit because he always identified Tobias a player who is improving consistenly.

Stiil, i don't like the fit with the Biid/Ben duo and would try to take advantage and move him next offseason.

Cardano? Let me go ask google about this lol

Looks like Bitcoin will drop to 41-42k before reaching 100k.

Anyway, cardano had a pump and dump last night. Lose some of my trading money.

Been busy on crypto lately. Didnt even notice we had a game last night.

Bitcoin dropping now. Likely drop to 50-52k range

I was trading in our local market like 5 years ago. Got out after losing money.

Then went back in last year on crypto after seeing the fed printing a lot of money and having a LOT of free time during this lockdown. And it more than made up my loss.

This experience taught me that you can’t be too down after a loss (i did) or be too greedy. There’s always opportunity and i have to just stay open minded and protect myself.

One of the prized pieces in the Tobias Harris deal, was just traded with a 2nd round pick, for a conditional 2nd round pick. Mifiondu Kabengele was given to the Kings.

The previous outrageous package for Tobias Harris (a 20ppg 8rpg, 40% 3pt shooting PF):

Landry Shamet
Mifiondu Kabengele
Pick #18 in the 2021 draft

I think my main takeaway on Kabengele is that college big men can't have single digit (or close to single digit) assist numbers in an entire season and expect to survive in the NBA.

Wish they would have thrown Doc in the trade with Tobi. Talk about a lopsided trade

For the most part. I'd say that's a good indicator 90% of the time. Serge Ibaka did alright for himself, but there are always outliers.

Well the pick we actually traded became Saddiq Bey which is looking like a good pick, and it actually got traded again for Shamet, so if you want to go truly meta it is

Landry Shamet
Landry Shamet

(Two pistons seconds that look pretty nice but we can say those were for Boban and Scott)

God I am hoping for a 20/8/3 stat line 55% ts and 35% from 3 for Harris being average on defense please don’t flame out again. I’m hoping this is for real with him.

With no shot creator and when Embiid gets blanketed our outside offense is very dependent on him.

I really don't know how anyone with any decent knowledge of the game can sit there and suggest Tobi doesn't fit like a glove alongside Joel and Ben...I just cannot fathom such a frivolous notion when the stats are there for ALL to see smh :D .

Huge endorsement by the boss.
However I'm not entirely convinced that Tobias can deliver at the same level during PO crunch time.

But nice job by him so far

It's a tricky game. It depends on the GM too.
Jordan Poole and Keldon Johnson went in the next 2 picks.
So it's not like that late pick had no value.

Sixers traded future for present. I'm still convinced there was one asset too much in that trade considered the situation.

Eh. Jordan Poole can't stay out of the G-league. He's nothing special.

Either way, the point is the 76ers traded what everyone knew were going to be 2 late 1sts and a bench player for a borderline All-star, and people are still holding on to it like it was Moses Malone for Jeff Ruland.

He isn't a great fit for the role we are asking him, wich is to be the go-to perimeter creator and scorer of the team, specially in crunch time. Also he should be taking more threes to complement better Biid and Ben. Defensively he is average at best and could get really exposed in some matchups.

I rather have a Markieff Morris cheap kind of player at the 4 and spend those 35M+/yr on an elite guard.

It's just my opinion, and many people with "any decent kowledge" thinks the same. But if makes you feel better to think you know more than others, go ahead.
