I wonder what we'd have to give up to get Sabonis, I'd be all over that. A couple first round picks? With one of Lauri or Wendell, add Coby? I don't really care. He'd be an absolute maestro in the Thad role, or the role we tried to use Wendell where he initiates the offense, but he's actually terrible at it. Sign a guy like Lonzo in the offseason and suddenly you might have the makings of really good team basketball.

Why not. Spurs are not going to win championship this year, so getting something back that might be with them next year is always better than nothing, what DeRozan is giving them next year.

Sabonis is unrealistic I feel, at least right now. I'm actually even surprised Indiana is listening to offers on either one. We definitely should try to get Brogdon and either sign or trade for a star big man whenever one becomes available. Brogdon/Lavine/PW/ Star Big man is a pretty nice core... this is better than hoarding picks and praying for a miracle that one of them turns into a star.

Lonzo or Brogdon
DeRozan or Gordon
Sabonis or Turner
I’d be fine with any combination of that really.

Swapping Lauri for Lonzo is like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic--not much point in doing it. If you're getting Lonzo, it's to get Lauri going. Zach doesn't need much help in that department as-is.
This is the myth. Lonzo doesn’t really get anyone going. Especially in the half court.
This keeps us from paying both 20M per. I think PaW can play PF well.

Question is can the bulls re sign Derozen from now ? Or is there a risk to lose him in FA this summer? If they can then it’s a no brainer they should go hard to get him. If they can’t then they better talk to Derozen before they do anything .

Have no idea why the Pacers think Lavert can play PG and they would trade Brogdon. See no way they trade him in division to a rival.
Brogdon was my #1 FA target.
If he is available I see a team like the Bucks did paying Jrue type of package.

Ball hasn't played yet tonight. I know he was out with a hip flexor. Gotta be this or something else. Anyone good at reading tea leaves?

Re: NBA Trade Thread # 3
Either Brogdon or Sabonis would solve so many problems for the Bulls, it will be disappointing if the Bulls don't get on this. It was a mistake when we didn't compete for the Brogdon trade from Milwaukee, I wouldn't pass him up again. Our PG situation overall is the worst in the league by a large margin.
I don't think our center situation is that much better.

Is DeRozan a free agent this summer?

I’d honestly be happy just adding either one of those guys.
They all help us improve differently. Would be dope to see Aaron Gordon & Zach play together.

Bulls trade: Pat Williams, Lauri, WCJ, Coby, Thad, 2022 1st rounder (top 5 protected)
Pacers: Brogdon, Sabonis, Holiday
The Bulls would still have roughly 20 million or so for free agency. Use the 11th pick in the draft to select Kispert and throw 20 million at Jarrett Allen.
Brogdon, Arch
Lavine, Denzel
Kispert, Holiday
Sabonis, Holiday
Allen, Sabonis
Different look for the team, but I think it is interesting.

I wouldn’t mind snatching up Nickeil Alexander Walker if he’s affordable. Seems like he’s been a casualty of the depth chart.

If it's Sato + 2nd round picks for Lonzo and Otto + filler for KAT, it's a home run. We can do some damage.

I'm sorry but that has to be some absolute serious filler for Minnesota to bite.

I like him better than Lonzo. But I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that the Pels do too, so I don't think he's available.
Troy Brown Jr, OTOH, is very much up for grabs. I would very much like to take a flier on him
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Is the filler Lavine, Pat Williams, and 3 1st rounders? Cause that’s what it would take

Re: NBA Trade Thread # 3
Siakim has shown frustration, he’s the frontcourt pairing with Lavine the Bulls should be looking at.
How silly is this trade:
Toronto trades: Siakim, VanVleet, Baynes, Mccaw
Bulls trade: Otto, Pat Will, Coby, WCJ, Thad, 2022 1st, 2024 1st

Why would Toronto want Thad if they trade Siakim and FVV?
