If we get Maxey I'm gonna be **** pissed. Kid is not gonna be a impact player in this league at all. Broken ass jump shot.

Or Thaiybul for that matter. Don't need any more offensive liabilities. We have a much better version of thiybull on this team already. Need that shot maker..

Wiretap.Kyle Lowry wants an indication that any team trading for him is willing to give him a two-year extension worth at least $25 million per year, sources tell the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Lowry is currently making $30 million in the final season of his deal with the Toronto Raptors.
The Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat are considered the favorites to trade for Lowry.
According to a source, the 76ers are unwilling to include Matisse Thybulle in a trade for Lowry, but could instead include Tyrese Maxey.
Oh and for the kids that wanted Maxey instead of thybulle... yeah I told you so.
This isn't exactly new information. It's been floating around for a while. And yet, the Heat and Sixers are still interested. But I would say it favours the Heat, because the Sixers would be so deep into the tax with four max or near max players, plus the whole rest of their roster. Heat have lots of room to bring in and re-sign Lowry and maybe even Norm.
The amount is definitely new. And it’s way too high. But that’s Kyle, that’s just, business... right? Yep and that’s why we trade him.

Nah...we are the only ones finding this out now. I'm sure this number has been in play amongst the key players involved for weeks...and yet there is STILL a market for Kyle. Yes...this will be his salary number whether he leaves or stays. I personally don't want 37 year old Lowry making that kind of coin in Toronto. I'm also done with all these small guards and small backcourts from over the years.

The amount here is leaving a real bad taste in my mouth. And it really quickly makes me remember the parts of Lowry I don’t like. I’ll leave it at that for now.

Why would that change anything? Kyle has at most 3 or 4 more years to get as much money as possible before he retires... wouldn't you do the same if you were him? And since we are this close to the deadline and trade talks ongoing it is clear that teams are willing to pay him this much so given that...is it wrong for him demand top dollar for his skill set? I don't get why he is now villified for getting what someone is clearly willing to pay him.
It could be worse...you could be looking at Chris Paul making 40 million until he is 38 years old...and CP hasn't won a damn thing in his career.

Maybe you should re-watch the Celtics series from six months ago. That guy, that player, wants $25 mill/yr for two years on his next contract. And you think that's unreasonable?
Clearly Kyle takes care of himself. He has a lot of miles, but he has a lot of muscle to absorb the punishment. I am concerned that his patented transition 3 shot is fading, but he's still a great floor general. Like Chris Paul (who's older and has a LOT more miles on him).

Anyone can fall off a cliff, but Kyle is significantly better than anything we can get back in a trade for him. Masai is playing this correctly. The worst-case scenario is Kyle walks for nothing, but they're not going to get crushed by a 2 year commitment that he can't live up to.

Truth be told Lowry is still producing and worth 2 year/$50m but very difficult for a team pay that and build a competitive team. He may need to choose between money and contending. There’s a market out there willing to pay him $50m but if he wants to contend he’ll likely need to take an Iggy deal of around $30m.

Frankly...that's not our problem. I'm sure teams acquiring him will need to do that calculus. The window in Miami really is this plus 2 more years as you will see Jimmy Butler start to decline as well. Philly...well...all depends on the health of Joel Embiid...which may also be a short window.

This season is done
we win if we come out with 2 first round picks for these rentals
Are you insane... Who's talking about this season?I'm talking about going forward, you think 2 late 1st rounders are going to right the ship of our offense. If we don't get tangible players if/when we trade Lowry & Powell we're screwed going forward, and a couple late first crapshoots doesn't change that.
Yes, I know 2 late lotto's are not going to right the ship of our offense! But again....who gives a ****
Ok! so who do you want?
You want to give up Lowry (rental for a few months) for Kevin Durant
You want to give up Powell (rental for a few months) for Anthony Davis
I'm exaggerating but you know what I mean. Teams aren't just handing out the strong offensive players your looking for.
You know who else was a late lotto (Lowry + Powell (2nd round))
Moving forward, beyond this season
- you leverage the assets you get.
- use the offseason for trades and free agency signings (20+ mil in cap space potentially)
- give young players opportunities to grow offensively
- use draft picks (potentially 3 first rounders + perhaps top 10 pick) and hope for the best (remember Powell was a second rounder that was not supposed to be 20ppg offensive weapon)
So dramatic... Oh we're expecting late 1st rounders to turn into Lowry calibre players? For every late 1st rounder who has an impactful career, there are probably 20 who don't, and don't even get me started on 2nd rounder odds. Ya I want to get some young current nba'ers coming back, not just a scratch ticket or two as the centrepiece(s), as secondary pieces sure... Anyway It'll be interesting to see which direction Bobby & Masai go with the offers.

Miami is the frontrunner for Kyle Lowry. Miami is limited with what it can offer in draft compensation, but rival executives believe a Robinson-headlined deal will be more appealing than anything Philadelphia, the Heat’s competition for Lowry, can offer.

If Lowry is only going to cost us $5-8 million more to re-sign, might as well just re-sign Lowry over giving Robinson a Joe Harris pay day to only shoot the ball.
Herro or bust for me at this point.

LOL Robinson centered deal???
Who's paying these ppl. I mean, I get it.. they want to lower any value our players have and make us lose any leverage but thats ridiculous.

Man if we took a Robinson + Nunn centered deal without any picks, ugh....all that refreshing would be for nothing.
