So what do you believe from this guy. Half the rumor you like which is Atlanta is interested in Brogdon and ignore his contract take? Or do you just ignore it all since half of it is bad in your opinion?

It seems to me that it's apparent that ATL is interested in Brogdon but not the price and they'd like to change the direction of any potential negotiation through the press. But it comes off pretty ham-handed and not at all subtle.

I don't see Atlanta and Schlenk as a team that likes press leaks. I actually think Schlenk hates them. Seems like anytime Indy has been involved in trade rumors this season, the leaks are worse than a 1970 Harley Panhead.

I feel like there will be 2-3 trades today and then typical torrent tomorrow. Maybe a little less than normal because the play-ins make more teams still "in it" but I think we'll get to around the usual number. This is likely just the usual calm before the storm where all of us obsessed trade fans worry the deadline will be a dud.

Yeah I forget it always happens on the last day. Been hoping to see something all week.

Trust me, I'm the exact same way. There's also usually that lull deadline day where nothing has really happened by like noon and we all start wondering what's going on and then all hell breaks loose.

You just don't understand how leverage works

Well first you need a fulcrum....oh wait no you don't. You just need to like one team more than another team.

OKC using Smitty to drive up that price. Otherwise I have wasted a lot of threads trying to move Kenrich Williams.

You do see how the only reasonable inference here is that it came from Atlanta, right? Indiana is not leaking that they think their guy is overpaid and often injured.

Unless Schlenk is playing from the Colangelo playbook of talking down his own players

I think that part is a guess on the writers part. Just like I would guess the contract. You do understand they are paying:

Snell 12.1 Million
Capela 16 Million
Bogdan 18.0 Million
Gallinari 19.5 Million
And Collins on the horizon.

I would infer that adding Brogdon would cause cap problems also. What I don't really understand is why Indy would want to move him at all. Only thing I can see as a remote possibility is he is not a great point guard; and that is what they were hoping for when they traded for him.

Does this open up cap space for the Pel's? I mean, a normal team probably shouldnt do it, but the Pelicans have what, like 3 first round picks this year and a million moving forward? Using a late pick to open up cap space isnt awful when you got a locker full of them

The part of injuries and cap issues is just a guess on the writers part is what I would infer. The cap issue with Collins is hard to miss unless the writer is living under a rock.

My take on Schlenk hating rumors is it causes locker room problems. That is part of this whole rumor mill deal I think he detest

I couldn't believe that Gordon bit. Guy waits years past the expiration date to make a loud trade demand right before the deadline and... now he's not so sure? Time for a new agent I think.

Seems to me like Toronto wants to use the Lakers to get Miami/Philly up pony up more value. After all, if the Lakers are involved...
