I think so, but i also got a man crush on THT and like him as a prospect as much as anyone else discussed from Philly/Miami. If they added their 2027 pick unprotected and flipped their 3 contracts (Schroeder/KCP/Harrell) for some value (wouldnt need to be much, imo), i wouldnt be offended at the offer at all
Remember, Lakers are $1.5m away from the hard cap at the apron. So, they’ve got to deal enough salary to stay under the hard cap, even after filling the roster spots they will empty in a 3 or 4 for 1.
It’s not insane, but it’s hard, in terms of the sheer machinations. It almost would guarantee that Schroeder/KCP/Harrell would HAVE to go out, merely to work legally.
Sending out those 3 players and taking back Lowry would open up about $7MM for the Lakers.
They likely can get by without Trez seeing they have AD/Lebron/Morris/Kuzma as guys who can play the 4 or small ball 5, plus they are likely to add Drummond on the buyout market.
Scroeder would be replaced by Lowry in the rotation.
The biggest loss would be KCP, and I'm not sure there is a wing they could get in the $5MM range in a 3-way trade.
But as referenced above, LA would basically need to flip Scroeder for a 1st, KCP for a 1st, and Trez for a mini mid level exception wing to complete the deal. Very complicated.
I could see Toronto interested in KCP as a cost controlled Norman Powell replacement, but hard to see them investing in Schroeder or Trez long term with FVV/Siakiam under contract long term. Could a team like Charlotte pony up value for that combo with LeMelo out and the playoffs in reach?
Philadelphia is a potential Schroeder destination. But is he a better fit than Danny Green?
