Yeah so I'm pretty sure the board just likes the idea of Lonzo Ball, and not the actual Lonzo Ball.

I'm getting dangerously close to wanting the Bulls to throw 25 million at Jarrett Allen and see if Cleveland flinches. His advanced numbers are fantastic, and he's very young. Fits like a glove.

I'm in the same place. He seems like a less-heralded Rudy Gobert

I'll third that. I'm higher than most on Wendell but it's pretty easy to imagine Allen being a difference maker over him going forward.

Everyone outside of this forum loves the move.

I love the move. I’ve been pushing for this all year. It’s exactly what should happen. Ball is an ideal fit in Chicago in virtually every way.

This “wait and just sign him in free agency or lowball the Pels until they capitulate” is nonsense. Just go get your guy. If we aren’t trading Zach, Pat, high end draft assets (or maybe Thad), you just do it. No one else on this roster matters more than Ball.

No chance would I trade Carter, White, Lauri or Thad for Ball. They are all better prospects or players in my opinion.

So would I...

I'd give the Pelicans Lauri, Otto and Coby for Ball and Adams

If New Orleans is willing to give up Ball to take on a contract, this is what I'm thinking. Adams and Ball for Porter and Felicio, they were rumored to like Otto Porter.
Then use Sato, Lauri, Valintine, filler maybe in a three-way if need for DeRozan.

Pg)Ball/Archie/Dotson
Sg)Lavine/White/Mokoka
Sf)DeRozan/Temple/Hutch
Pf)P-Will/Young/Gafford
C)Adams/Carter/Kornet

We are not bringing in TJ McConnell to be our starting PG.

Holy hell, did I call the Ball/Adams deal about a week ago? Hopefully we're moving Bledsoe elsewhere.

Are AKME GarPax 2.0?

If they bring Lonzo by trading away our FRP OR receiving mediocre contract like Adams or Bledsoe I'll think like that.

Just look at the NOP. They are struggling despite of Zion's monstrous performance. They also have Ingram who made the all-star last year. Lonzo (and Adams) even can't lead his team to victories with two all-star caliber players.

And yet some in Bulls FO really wanna bring those guys? What's the point to trade for a guy who can't run sets on halfcourt? Just to make the playoffs to get swept in the 1st round of the playoffs? Terrible idea.

Definitely open to bringing in Adams in a Lonzo trade. He doesn't fit with the Pelicans at all, so they know they need to move him. He's only 27 and is on a reasonable contract for the next two years ($17 mil per year). It solves our center issue and gives us a look at him. Adams would easily be moveable in the future if he doesn't work here, plenty of teams would be willing to trade for him further into his contract.

I dont think the reporters are seriously considering ball impending rfa. The Bulls don't need to bid against themselves. Ball wants to come here. We can just hand him the offer sheet this off season where I doubt the pelicans will match. Sato is a nice asset and a 2nd is cool too where the pelicans can get something for him rather than he move for nothing.

I think lauri needs to be a piece sent to either San Antonio for derozan or pacers for brogdon.

Exactly. You pay only as little as you can get away with.

Other teams have offered NBA sewage-equivalent for Ball, which tells you how highly they think of the guy. Ball has leaked he wants Chicago. The Bulls have leaked they want Ball. It's a unique situation for sure. I can bet you these talks were prior to Sato becoming a very serviceable starter.

There's absolutely no reason to lose a good player (Sato), let alone a young good player like Lauri for a guy that will likely be a Bull in 4 months anyways, if the interest is real.

Again, the competition as far as a trade goes, as of right now, is utter trash. No need to bid against themselves.

Besides, these leaks are actually making NO look weak, despite the obvious attempt to get a bidding war going. Any FO would look and say --that's what I have to beat? Here's my trash, I think it's slightly better than Atlanta's. We've given them the best offer so far, and judging by what the others have offered, Sato and 2nds is actually overpaying as-is.

The Bulls have leaked they want Ball for years, it almost has to happen at some point.

What kind of draft pick would they include for the Bulls to take Stephen Adams contract?

Steven Adams is one of my favorite people (not simply on-court production) in the NBA. I would love to see him as a Bull. It'd balance out the vitriol I'd feel toward any comment on the team from Lavar.

Since AK took over..

we've replaced :

Gar with Marc Eversley

Boylen with Billy Donovan

signed/drafted :

Patrick Wililams (moved up in the draft)

Garrett Temple

If AK can add Ball & Adams to this team while only losing rotation players like oft-injured players like Lauri, Otto etc.,

Even if AK decided against Lauri for Ball, I would think we could still make a deal around :

Sato, WCJ, Otto (expiring), Felicio (expiring) & 2 2nds for Ball/Adams

G Ball / White
G LaVine / Valentine
F Temple / Williams
F Markkanen / Young
C Adams / Gafford

I'm positive Billy Donovan is going to push to add Adams for his system.

Bulls Get - Lonzo, Adams
Bulls Trade - Otto Porter, Felicio, 2nd round pick

You do that trade in a heart beat without thinking about it.
- you try to keep Lauri with Lonzo and Adams on the floor to give spacing; plus I'd be super intrigued how Lauri would do with a real PG

That’s an upgrade. I don’t think it makes the Bulls a good team yet but would stabilize the roster for sure.
