When teams are positioning for Norman freaking Powell and Andre Drummond you know this is a weak ass trade market

That is my take also. A whole lot of smoke to get the clicks; but not a lot of important/good players to be moved. Usually smoke means fire to me. I think its mostly the pundits looking for clicks this season.

I hope this isn’t one of those years where the deadline will pass and nothing happens. If the season sucks atleast let the deadline be exciting lol.

Lot of big trades happened this season: Harden, Oladipo, Blake Griffin, etc

That’s basically one transaction and then a buyout of a washed up player that wasn’t big nor a trade...

I have enjoyed it as well. Other than the short lived interest in Ball by the Hawks, none of the Hawks rumors have closely got me excited.

Why though? Noel and Robinson have been doing an admirable job at the 5. Drummond will just clog the paint making it harder for Randle to operate

That is what 1/3 of the board said about Collins and Capela. The improvement of team defense and team rebounding metrics cannot be denied. I imagine the Knicks are hoping for a similar result.

The Knicks are focused on the playoffs. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they got Drummond for free. It’s a end of season rental that shores up the centre position and I imagine they could trade Noel or give him the back up PF minutes

Im sorry but Griffin needs to go, he is garbage. Just this offseason he used a 1st round pick to get Adams and then gave him an extension without him playing a single game with Zion. And now 40 games in he is looking for ways to salary dump him?

And when it comes to Bledsoe, if moving Bledsoe means hurting the return for Ball or using picks, that just means the trade from Milwaukee isnt as good as first thought, if they have to use assets to dump Bledsoe.

And the thing is, both Adams and Bledsoe were obvious bad fits. Everyone could see that coming from a mile away.

Trading DeAndre Hunter for 2 bench players(Hayes & NAW) was also a fireable offence.

Yeah, Ainge is finally going to do something. But just because he likes keeping his job more than his desire "must rip off other team"

Except that Drummond isn't nearly the defender that Capela is. He's a great rebounder, for sure, but his team defence has never been as good as what he should be capable of given his athletic skills.

Ya its a pretty hard pill to swallow trading the #4 which ended up being Hunter to get those two. Then taking NAW at 17 with Brandon Clarke still available. Im sure almost every GM would rather have Hunter over those two, or Clarke over those two. So you trade out from taking a good player, then screw up on your two picks you traded down to get. Its bad move after bad move for Griffin so far.

I tried to tell everyone that Griffin was a terrible GM. In Cleveland he benefitted from all the draft picks that Chris Grant acquired and then backstabbed Grant to take his job. Then Lebron comes back and Griffin deals all those FRP's for mediocre roleplayers like JR, Shumpert, Korver and Mozgov. At least now people are seeing that he is a blowhard and has no idea how to evaluate talent or put a team together. Trading out of that 4th pick was a huge mistake. Acquiring talent like Adams and Bledsoe who obviously don't fit was another mistake and then he compounds it by giving Adams that extension. Giving a big contract to a washed up vet like Redick was another waste of money.
