Well he's done for tonight I guess. Not on the bench, hope he didn't get hurt.

Welp he's playing.

Joe is sitting in the unmasked area and has been sitting there since coming out of the game in the first quarter. It’s weird

People are willingly saying this is G-Leaguers but they play minutes even with the stars. When did G-Leaguers become quality role players for a championship team?
Yes when healthy we can have a star always on the floor but we have no blowouts and if we did they couldn’t stay seated.
Fandom doesn’t mean being blinded by obvious deficiencies.

These G-leaguers dont play when our normal guys are playing.

Chiozza, perry, johnson, TLC. those guys are in street clothers when the big 3 are back.

We have the best starting lineup in the NBA by a wide Margin and then bring in excellent role guys like TJ, Shamet, Brown, Green, Claxton off the bench plus whatever Blake can give us.

its an embarassment of riches.

Compare our rotation to the Warriors with Durant any season and tell me if that’s true. Any championship team will do. Any current contender. We are worse after the top guys by a clear margin.
Fandom is one thing but the way we talk about these guys is crazy. We are a starter and MLE(used on every contender. A free 5-10 million dollar contract) down and we act like they aren’t vet minimums and 2nd rounders. This isn’t next season team at all.

We are better then almost all of them (while having a much better top 4). here are the 5 through 10 for the last decade of champs:

Lakers: Caruso, Green, Bradley, Morris, Howard
Raptors: Green, Gasol, Powell, Ibaka, OG
Warriors: Iguodala, Cook, Young, Livingston, McCaw
Warriors: Iguodala, Pachullia, Livingston, McCaw, Clark/West
Cavs: Smith, Dellavadova, Shumpert, Mozgov, Jefferson
Warriors: Iguodala, Lee, Livingston, Bogut, Speights
Spurs: Diaw, Bellinelli, Splitter, Green, Mills
Heat: Chalmers, Battier, Cole, Haslem, Anderson
Heat: Chalmers, Miller Anthony, Cole, Haslem
Dallas: Terry, Berrea, Heywood, Butler, Beaubois
LAkers: Fisher, Farmer, Brown, Bynum, Walton

Of that group you can say that the raptors and 1st warriors title team had a clear better 5 thorugh 10. The rest the Nets current 5 through 10 (Claxton, Green, Shamet, Brown, TJ, Blake) are on par with or better than.

Claxton can’t rebound and can’t play 30
Shamet/Brown again can’t play 30. On the Clips he was down the line on the rotation. This is Brown first winning situation and proved to be a quality role player. What contender is starting on? He’s a bench player on every winning team and on losing teams will be moved for any prospect that smell of a starter.
Green is a proven vet no complaints just again not starting on other contenders.
We really act like the mid season trade didn’t mean we didn’t have an off-season to build a roster.

with what money would we have built the roster in anticipation of trading for james harden? if we used the tax payer mle on someone like ibaka we would have been hard capped and unable to make the harden trade as far as I know.

Correct, i made this point in the "how should we fill out the roster" thread. it was wise for marks to hold off on that knowing we could do better via trade.

I said the trade depleted us. Moved up players who were further down.
I’m saying in this situation there’s no reason to act as if outside of the top 4 we have a quality roster of role players.

Again, this is completely false:

Levert --> Harden
Allen --> Claxton
Prince --> Brown/Blake
Kurucs --> pick your guy who also wore a nice suit to the game and didnt play just like kurucs

Where is this depth we lost? Sure until Claxton returned we really missed Allen. but Claxton is back now. so that hole no longer exists. Brown has been better then prince. Who knows if blake will be or not. but Prince wasnt great for us

Why would i waste their time with such a nonsense post? feel free to get laughed at yourself. those 10 champions 5 thorugh 10 are made up of role guys, former all-stars way past their prime, and specialists.

no cracking 60 through 3 quarters for this team just seems odd. we usually drop close to 70 by halftime

The lakers would be the best of the 3. they would need to give up some of their talent and they already are super thing after Lebron/AD.

Like it would probably be a 3 team deal where Kuzma, Schroeder, and THT are moved. Thats not a huge net positive for them. The sixers have youth/picks where they would gain lowry and keep their top 5 in tact.

and for the lakers to beat us with lowry, it means we are in the finals, which is a feat in itself

Kyle wants 2 year 50 extension from what was reported. Philly not type of team that will be spending much, don't see it happening.

Lakers and Clippers been sniffing around but they don't have anything to work with from what I heard.

I won't mind him going to Miami and lose Nunn in process.

Silver lining to throwing away this game....

1) it was second of a back to back on the road vs a good team on the west. good chance we would have lost anyway
2) our next 10 games:
-Pistons
-Wolves
-Rockets
-Hornets
-Bulls
-Knicks
-Pelicans
-Lakers (no Lebron or AD potentially)
-Wolves
-Philly

We have a ton of layups and 9 very winnable games before a head to head with philly.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
