Pretty sweet bit of business for Detroit to get value from a player Dallas just dumped on them. Don't totally get it for the Kings, but I guess a backup PG for a year is fine.

I feel like some GMs are just in

“I’ve gotta make a trade at the deadline mode”

I feel like this is one of those trades.

I like it for the Kings, good chance they could trade him in the offseason or deadline and get some 2nds back and Joseph's money is gone. Detroit made a small profit and moves on the next flip opportunity.

Minus the CoJo partial is like 6 mils for Wright next year. Not bad.

I would of preferred to "tank"

But if they are going to go for it, this helps.

Should tell you the Kings are really unlikely to trade Barnes if they go this route.

Maybe even keep Bjelica.

This team is dead set on improving. I love it honestly. Cory Joseph was my least favorite player and probably one of the worst rotation players in the entire NBA.

I'm not kidding when I say I think if we had Wright from the season start we are easily over 500. Joseph is that bad. Go look at the kings threads early season. Every game, Joseph team lead -20. And I get it, no one game matters, but this was a pattern with him. Hes awful!

*checks bingo card*

Did anyone have Wright for Joseph and 2 SRPs?

I’m with you. I’m assuming there are more moves here though. It’s questionable that McNair would add salary to next season just for Wright. He needs to be thinking about Holmes.

Edit.
Also I think Bjelica is gone after Metu surpassed him tonight.

Wayyyyy wayyyy back when, I think I suggested Parker + 2nd for Delon. I never thought we could dump Joseph in the process. So thankful!

I think Bagley is gone. Just a guess. Or he's communicated with Holmes about staying on for MLE

I'm literally so hyped for this. I never have to watch Joseph dribble the basketball for the kings again! My deadline is a win no matter what else we do!

CoJo's teammates love him. Fans can't stand to watch him play. Love/hate relationship for sure.

That Lakers pick in 2021 isnt worth much at all and the Kings keep the higher value 2nds this year so I'm okay with the trade value.

No because it really doesn't make a lot of sense. Sorry Kings fans who are excited about this. I mean in theory Delon and Buddy as your backup guard rotation is pretty good really. But Buddy doesn't like coming off the bench for whatever reason and the problem remains the frontcourt.

It's cheap sure, but I don't know that I waste any assets on a 4th guard with so many questions up front.

Chuck it was the 2021 Lakers 2nd, and a 2nd in 2024. The kings have been selling these vlade 2nds every year for cash. This is literally a no brainer. The asset cost was so minimal.

Buddy has been playing a ton at the 3 as well.

I'm guessing he's not done. My prediction is he grabs one more solid bench piece. Likely a big man.

LOL

That Lakers second was got by trading a better one for cash considerations.

Cojo is off the roster! Thank goodness he was beyond terrible this year.
